Many of those coaches are unknown to the millenial infestation on this board.

This dude was such a fraud. I got roasted for years by multiple fanbases for this accusation.

Miss St has only won 6 games all time against teams that finished in the top 10. In defense of Mullen.

Yet Florida thought Dan Mullen would be very good at Florida. He did get Florida to be a better football team but then ending up firing him when things went south.

Mullen was a fraud, but this is true.

States only wins against Final AP Top 10 opponents came in 1950, 1963, 1980, 1981, 1992, and 2000.

Literally zero since Jackie Sherrill beat Final #10 Florida in 2000.

Never coached a single game for an SEC school.

Was never the head coach of an SEC school.

7. Darrell Royal, Texas- 43.9%

Actually coached an SEC school for two seasons (Schtate in 54-55), but was 0-3 against AP top ten opponents in that stretch (using the final AP polls).

How are you going to toss in dudes with absolutely no connection to the SEC, but leave out longtime SEC coaches who coach at universities no longer affiliated with our conference? How about Bobby Dodd? He won a ton of games at Georgia Tech. What about Ted Cox and Henry Frnka of Tulane? Why not include them? They were, objectively, SEC head coaches, unlike a bunch of the dudes on your list. I expect better from the most knowledgeable fanbase on tRant.

69x Award Winning SECRant user Tornado Alley exposed Mullen long ago. Mullen beat just a couple of teams with a pulse in his time in Starkville. Otherwise, he bullied a buncha Conference USA and Sun Belt teams, not to mention very bad SEC teams.

I wouldn't say it's "fraud," however. Mullen is the only Schtate coach to do that. Whether he took advantage of new scheduling rules or not, he did win consistently at Schtate, something no one else has really ever done since McKeen back in the 40s.

I got so much shite making this username after the LSU shoe game.

Mullen is good for a school with 0 expectations. Anything else and he is eventually revealed as the con artist he is. I still think he could be a legendary MAC or C-USA coach if those conferences even exist anymore.

he could've been the man in Starkville. They would've named the stadium after him. He led them to 33% of their bowl games and bowl wins despite coaching there just eight seasons.

Feel free to do the research and create your own list. No one is stopping you.

This is for current SEC fans. I don’t care about Georgia Tech or Sewanee.

The worst thing about Mullen is he has the arrogance and ego of much more accomplished coaches like Saban and Urban.

That took a lot of work, thanks. Do you have the actual numbers of wins/losses? I'm way too lazy to look it up.

Mizzou was a funny team during his tenure - they never won more than eight games during his seven years at Mizzou. They were giant slayers, but would lay eggs against the worst Big Eight teams.

Mizzou defeated #4 Notre Dame in South Bend, #7 Colorado, #12 Iowa State, #2 Nebraska, #19 SMU, #7 Arizona State, #5 Nebraska, #2 Alabama at Legion Field, #14 Oklahoma State, #8 USC at the Coliseum, #2 Ohio State in Columbus, #14 North Carolina, #3 Nebraska in Lincoln, #14 Colorado, #20 Arizona State, and #15 Colorado.
