Idk if mentioned yet but Keyshawn Johnson was set to go to MSU out of high school but could not make the grades. Ended up at JuCo then USC and the rest was history.

Cam transferring hurt, but we wouldn't have won a title in 2010 no matter who was under center.

CJ Spiller picking Clemson because he couldn't choose between UF and FSU 100% cost us the national title in 2009 and kickstarted the Bama dynasty.

LINKI can't think of many. Definitely Kenny Irons is up there. We had a hell of a baseball player Tanner kicked off the team and I think he transferred to Old Dominin. Lonnie Chisenhall. When I was a youngan we had a basketball player named Brent Price. Lights out 3 point shooter. He transferred to Oklahoma and he smoked us when we had to play with them when he was on their team

Oh man. I remember Brent Price. What was the reason for him transferring? I have a foggy memory of a game between South Carolina and Oklahoma after he transferred. A lot of trash talk between Brent and the student section if I remember right.

Keenan Allen was pretty good and he would've gone there if y'all took his brother too who wasn't a bad player

29 touchdowns and 22 interceptions at Cal.

Allen was committed to Alabama for several months until Cal offered Maynard. 2010 would’ve been Julio + Allen.

The following all transferred, mainly due to playing time issues, and still made it to the NFL:

- OL "Mookie" Moore
- RB Spikes
- TE Mangum
- RB Kamara
- RB Miree

May be forgetting one or two more.

Xavier Nixon, a 275 lb bag of cotton candy was our starting LT and Mike Pouncey was playing out of position at Center - had the yips all year. Denote Thompson (fast guy that couldn't catch a cold) and Carl Moore (overrated Juco) were our best WRs. Jeff Demps, god love him, was a great niche player but he had no place as a starting RB.

Defensively, we had very little depth at LB and the starting DL were rotational players from better teams. Floyd and Easley were true freshmen, and the latter had a major attitude problem - almost quit the team midseason.

2010 was a major transition year. 2012 was the big missed opportunity.

Don’t forget legatron
Would’ve done anything to play for bama. We were too stocked at kicker already???Imagine what a difference that one stupid recruiting decision made. At least another nattie, kick 6 game never happens as carlson wouldn’t have been kicking for auburn and we don’t miss multiple easy field goals in that game. We then get his brother, who knows what that will mean going forward with our craptastic field goal game.

Georgia, Nick Marshall? Although he’s an odd ball who switched from CB to QB. How did that happen?

No, Nick Marshall would have never flourished at UGA in a pro-style offense that rarely gave the QB an opportunity to run.

Auburn is Emmitt Smith. One of the best RB prospects in the country out of Pensacola and we went after him hard. He committed to us at one point (we were the top program in the SEC at the time and Florida was on probation and languishing) but he ultimately flipped to Florida on signing day.

Auburn had the best defense in the country from 1987-1989 and one of the best in SEC history. Great OL and QB play as well. We were just missing one piece of the puzzle - the great, fear inducing RB, which ironically is what AU is known for. If Emmitt had signed with us, we might have won 3 straight National Championships. Instead we seemed to just miss out every year (earthquake game, etc,) Emmitt went 0-3 against Auburn, but was a Heisman contender all three years.

Auburn and UA both wanted Phillip Rivers as a TE. Malzahn wanted Lamar Jackson.

Kiffen pulling scholly's for both Taj Boyd, and Bryce Petty commitments leaving Dooley starting his first season with ZERO QBs that had been on campus the season prior, really sucked.

Kif....the gift that kept on giving.

Cam was good enough to take uf from 7-6 to championship in 2010. He did it for auburn that very year.

From an old guys perspective? I can list three players that Bama ended up signing but it looked for a while that Auburn were the favorites:

- 1960's - Johnny Musso
- 1970's - Ozzie Newsome
- 1980's - Cornelius Bennett

Cam had Fairley and Dyer, both better than any playmakers on 2010 UF. Dyer, Adams, McCaleb, Lutz, Burns was a better offensive grouping than any UF would have until 2012 when Jordan Reed and Gilly had their breakout years.
