Did that person say that national championships are literally the only metric whatsoever that matters?

Your hatred of UGA is getting in the way of common sense and rational thinking.

Obviously OU is not better than Alabama or Ohio State since 2000. But they are very much in the discussion with Georgia, LSU, and Clemson. Maybe not ahead but certainly in the discussion.

3- LSU
2- Ohio St, Georgia, Clemson, USC, Florida
1- Oklahoma, Texas, Michigan, Florida St, Auburn, Miami

Top 5 Finishes:

9- Oklahoma
8- Georgia, USC
7- Texas, Oregon
6- Clemson
5- LSU
4- Florida, Notre Dame, Miami
3- Michigan, Florida St, Auburn, TCU, Washington

Top 10 Finishes:
20- Ohio St
17- Alabama
16- Oklahoma
15- Georgia

Correct for conference strength and then pull in head to head and results in BCS/playoff era and they absolutely fall behind LSU and Georgia

Even more impressive, given the fact that we spotted everyone else an 8 year head start.

Maybe better at distributing mind-altering substances because you're out of your fricking mind.

Exactly, we saw what happened the last time Oklahoma won the Big 12 and ran into LSU in the postseason.

Alabama was great in 2008...they were a 4th quarter touchdown away from a national championship appearance and likely victory.

Bama wasn't great for the start of the century. But they weren't Auburn as we know them today by a long shot. Alabama actually was the SEC champion in 1999,and we had a coach called Mike Dubose. That's winning the hard way. Coach Fran and Coach Shula both had 10 win seasons also. But still thank goodness for Nick Saban, who came along at the right time to restore order to titletown.Bama should have bragging rights for the 20th and the 21st century, don't you think?

The best job the SEC ever did was convince yall and the media to push a narrative it’s head and shoulders better than every conference. Better yes, way better no. But keep telling yourself that.

It’s always been a few great schools, a few good, and many average.

Gotta win at least 1 playoff game before you can even think about joining the discussion with the others on this list.

The “narrative” was set into motion by a string of national championships, a string of head to head annihilations, and an unbelievable track record of NFL draft picks and superstars…just because Texas got extremely lucky to come into the SEC at the advent of NIL and brokered a deal for the easiest conference slate of games possible (Arkansas, Kentucky, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt, etc) doesn’t make you any better of a football program

How we snuck in a 10-win season in there, I'll never know.
