I can confirm Shane Beamer's contract will be 5, years, $2.75 million with heavy incentives with a large pool for on and off the field staff.
Thank god we didn’t pay him 5 million or something

You know it's bad when that looks like lowball deal.

Feels like a placeholder hire.

That's what Muschamp ended up being.

Why even give him 5 years when you're paying the head coach nominally more than the highest paid coordinators in college football? I mean what an utter shitshow. The total value of his contract is barely more than Muschamp's buyout. I almost think they'd have been better off hiring an interim HC if Beamer is the absolute best they could do. Or maybe not even fire him unless they had someone better ready to take the job.

Very similar to Pittman’s contract.

They are very similar hires in all honesty.

So they hired on the cheap. Gat dang Carolina fans have to be frustrated.

Pretty dang close to what Kevin Steele and Steve Sarkisian are making as coordinators. Well, now that I think about it, I can't forget Bo Pelini's 3-year contract at 2.3 mils per. Beamer looks like a basement bargain for a HC in the SEC.

And he has NO buyout clause....seriously.

Shane did win the military bowl against Cincinnati.. he was a head coach for a month. Plus it sounds like Frank will be involved.

Probably money being set aside for quality assistants. That's what Arkansas did with Pittman to land Briles and Odom.

See he's getting a little more than $500k per year. That's a steal.

That contract has to be the lowest in the SEC right? At least South Carolina’s AD how’s there place.

Should have been 1.5 max with no buyout. Incentive laden. These contracts get more ridiculous. There was no competition for this guy and his success/failure is going to depend on his staff hires

He would have said thanks but no thanks.

I doubt it, the man nearly cried during the press conference because he was so happy. You gotta think, he was born here, his kids were born here, this is home to him.

Sonny Dykes at SMU, Josh Heupel at UCF, Luke Fickell at Cincinnati, and Dana Holgorsen at Houston are all making more than that.

Just to be clear, you're mad that they didn't pay enough? I didn't want Beamer, but I have no issue with his contract.
There is no evidence that this decision was made over Beamer being cheaper than Napier/Chadwell/whoever. It's seemed like Beamer was the frontrunner since all the former players came out in favor of him right after Muschamp was fired. Again, I wanted Chadwell/Napier over him, but I don't get the feeling this was really a money thing.
You seem like you've got some misplaced anger. I'm sure it has nothing to do with LSU paying Pelini almost as much as Beamer
