I think he was a safe hire after two fricked up attempts by the last AD. However, I don't fault CEO for going after the job and I'm very proud of his success.

I’m not suprised at all, if we wanna be honest Les left him the foundation and he just had to do what Les was too stubborn to do and that’s change the offense.

Ive said since day one that he was the recruiter we needed.

Based on the fact that he’s stealing talent from all over the SEC, I’d say I was correct.

I thought we botched the big time hires (Herman and Fisher) and settled for the bargain bin find.

Thankfully I don’t have a damn clue about hiring coaches.

When did Gerry Dinardo have LSU at No. 1?

Ok thanks, I gave him the benefit of the doubt by thinking he was just ignorant or stupid, thanks for pointing out he is a dumb arse.

No; at the time I was very disgruntled at the hire and circumstances surrounding it.

Ed O has LSU ranked #1 in the nation, and the two guys many of the fanbase wanted have their teams unranked.

I was wrong. I can admit it. And with the way LSU is recruiting under O, it doesn't look like we're poised to miss a beat any time soon.

Hated the hire because his resume did not support it, plain and simple.

"Lazy and gimmicky" sounds about right.

That being said, he has done better than I ever thought he would.

He still has not beaten Bama or won anything of significance.

Earning the #1 ranking is a great accomplishment.

Upon further review, maybe can't blame him for sucking at Ole Miss....pretty much everyone does because it's Ole Miss. Ditto for Tenn.

I think he has lucked into a great qb, we will see what happens in years to come.

Who was it that convinced him to come run a traditionally putrid offense?
Well, let's be honest, most teams with good offenses have a QB in place. Ohio State, where he was, had a great offense. He just wasn't their man.

LSU is/was an easy choice for a transfer- perennially ranked, athletes everywhere, big hole under center. Step in and start, and if you're worth half a damn you get to a New Year's Day bowl.

Now with 20/20 hindsight, Burrow should have went to Oklahoma instead. He'd be angling for his 2nd Heisman now.

We aren’t happy with Gus and he’s taken us to a national championship and two SEC championships
That's good but he lost the NC and one of the 2 SECC games.

Neither do any other fans nor many ADs. Even the ones who get it right, do so based on luck not what they know. Of course not counting slam dunks like Saban, Bryant, Meyer, etc. Even with most successful coaches you need a good fit.

Alright be honest lsu fans. Did you think Coach O would be the one to get your team elevated to the number 1 spot? I thought it was a good hire because he fits you guys. Don't know what his issues were at Ole Miss. Just based on personality I thought it was a good hire.

I did.

I have linkable proof from the day he was hired.

LINK

Also claimed last year and after Texas this year he would win one before Smart and Jimbo at Aggy.

No. I really thought we would see almost exactly the same shite we had under Les. I figured he’d keep us in the 8 to 10 wins per season range. Never being a “bad” team but never being a really good team either.

When bama hired Nick Saban,a lot of bama fans thought he couldn't be trusted because he kept saying that he was not leaving the dolphins.nvmd that he was accused stepped on or over an injured player while with the dolphins
