Alright be honest lsu fans. Did you think Coach O would be the one to get your team elevated to the number 1 spot? I thought it was a good hire because he fits you guys. Don't know what his issues were at Ole Miss. Just based on personality I thought it was a good hire.

Most of them hated the hire and were embarrassed by it.

I thought he could make the team competitive. I did not foresee a #1 ranking heading to Bama.

I think he has lucked into a great qb, we will see what happens in years to come.

Considering the last 3 coaches have done the same?

i’m guessing he just “lucked into” one of the best offensive minds in college football too, huh?

He has exceeded by expectations by a million miles.

After the Troy fiasco I thought LSU was back in the Curley Hallman days. I was dead wrong.

I do believe it’s the right coach AND the right program though. Orgeron is a much better coach now and he would be fielding a respectable team that plays hard in most places....but winning and recruiting at this level? Few places have that potential.

I thought he was a good hire considering the circumstances. That was purely economic and I did not think Jimbo was worth the money he was asking and Herman might have been worth the money but I did not think he wanted to be here at LSU and would leave in 2-3yrs anyway.

I thought CEO would bring high level recruiting back to LSU and he is just now doing that.

As far as performance I expected him to be about Miles level but have a chance to win something someday.

I think what he gets most credit for is bringing in Joe Burrow and then having the chutzpah to go get Joe Brady to give him a decent offense.

I hated the hire. Seemed lazy and gimmicky.

I was not happy and super skeptical. But I believed if he got the right coordinators he would do ok.

Who was it that convinced him to come run a traditionally putrid offense?
