Roberto's

If you're driving in from Austin, go to Best Stop in Scott for fresh Boudin, and back again to load up on frozen meats for the trip back.

Coming from I-10W…boudin and cracklin options, W to E:

Jennings: Hebert’s
Crowley: Karchner’s
Duson: Best Stop (satellite)
Scott: Best Stop, Billy’s, Don’s, and at least 1 other place

Personally, for boudin, I would vote for Best Stop, then Karchner’s.

For cracklin…hard to beat Billy’s … but Best Stop and Don’s are both good.

All those places are within a 33 mile stretch….then enjoy getting fat going across the Basin Bridge.

My wife and I usually eat somewhere around Perkins and I-10. Lots of options right there. Parrains, Acme Oyster House, and a couple of foodie type places that my wife usually chooses: BLDG 5, and Overpass Merchant.

Glad you brought cracklins up. I saw all the signs when I drove to Lafayette a few months ago but didn’t know what was good or not. Definitely be making a pit stop.

My journey back down to 195 pounds will have to be put on hold!

Waffle House, just don't let Serraneaux spit on your food.

Is Sammy's still open? I haven't been in a while but a few years ago I thought it was a good spot

guess Parrain’s isn’t popular around here.

Parrains has turned into Chimes east. Campus Chimes is great. Make sure you pick the right Chimes.

If you can get in and want a good brunch before the game go to Mason’s. Great Bloody Mary and bottomless Mimosas.

Blue Store chicken

This place is the definition of overrated. Its pretty good. Crispy but not a lot of flavor. Typical Asian fried chicken, ( except Korean which is way better )

People are always postin this like its some great local fried chicken place.

Fresh Popeyes blows it out the water.

Stay close to your restaurants and LSU. Don't venture off to see "The Town." Don't explore and wind up in North Baton Rouge.

Rarely mentioned in discussions like this is that Parrains and The Chimes are sister restaurants sharing ownership. Their menus have a good bit of overlap. Parrains is a little, very little, more elevated dining whereas The Chimes is more of a bar food scene. Both are very good but a repetitive experience if you hit both on the same weekend. Been there done that.

Unless I missed it, no mention of Iverstine? Was on triple D recently and looked really good.

Elsie's Plate & Pie. Popular local place with great food . Several really good dishes that aren’t available elsewhere.
Chimes is good if you want to stay on campus (blackened gator app )

Albasha might be the greatest Greek N Lebanese food I've ever had. Lived in 2 other states and have scoured the Greek and Lebanese restaurants in Georgia and Colorado and NOTHING COMES CLOSE to Albasha
