As long as this doesn’t spoil our rivalry with Vandy.

I think it will be Florida as the third for Auburn. Let's face it, they already said they may re-evaluate in 5-10 years, and it may take that long for UF to be a bigger fish again.

That would suck for Auburn though, playing Bama/UGA/UF every year. I think we'll get UGA/LSU/Carolina instead to make things fair.

Vols don't want that, they're crossing their fingers for Bama/UK/Vandy.

Auburn plays the hardest schedule in the SEC every year. What’s new?

I trust Sankey and ESPN about as much as the Biden Administration or the Chicoms. They’ll find a way to piss a lot of people off.

Hence why that report from The Athletic is probably accurate. Alabama's permanent opponents will be Auburn and Tennessee due to long-standing rivalries and Mississippi State due to it being a long-standing rivalry

Why would ESPN give you State over LSU since LSU draws more viewers? Just speculation on my part.

There’s no way Arkansas doesn’t play Texas under the new format. Much strong ties than any other opponent on your current list.

We better get Texas every year. After that, I'd say Ole MIss. Seems like we've always played them for as long as I can remember. Mizzou would be close in proximity, but no real history there. I could see us getting LSU, Texas, and Ole Miss.

I think you’re close, I could see it as:

Bama: Auburn, TN, Miss St
Auburn: Bama, UGA, Ole Miss
TN: Bama, Florida, Vandy
UGA: Auburn, FL, SC
FL: UGA, TN, SC
TX: OU, A&M, Arky
OU: TX, A&M, Mizzou
A&M: TX, LSU, OU
Ole Miss: Miss St, LSU, Auburn
Miss St: Ole Miss, Bama, Vandy
Arky: TX, Mizzou, LSU
UK: Mizzou, Vandy, SC
Vandy: TN, Miss St, UK
Mizzou: OU, Arky, UK
SC: UGA, FL, UK
LSU: A&M, Arky, Ole Miss

UK gets a cake-walk while A&M, and of course Auburn, have it pretty rough.

It’s frustratingly ironic to predict that, as the conferences get larger and schedules are manipulated to appease change, there’s a prioritization on “historic rivalries” and “geographic proximity” to preserve what really drives fans interest: the regional nature of this sport.

If not for the obvious—the almighty $ and the media’s short-slighted ability to wield it—you’d question why conference expansion happened in the first place

I think the thing people forget with this system is the fact that even if two teams aren't permanent opponents, they still play every other year. They will use permanent opponents to protect the longest-standing games.

The importance of locking in certain games just for the TV ratings is overblown, there will be plenty of marketable matchups, and they will get every single one over the span of 2 years.

Arkansas is getting Texas and Missouri. Don’t see any way around that.

Question is the third team.

Oklahoma for geography?

LSU for the boot?

A&M with a promise to stay in Jerry World?
