Where I wasn't worried about LSU.
I could see Barry leaving to go to Oklahoma to coach with his brother especially since they are from Oklahoma.

He turned down LSU last year so not sure why he'd go to OU now.
Because like most everyone who has eyes he saw O was a dead man walking.
He’ll leave because Oklahoma > Arkansas.

Somebody has never been through a coach search before

He could in Oklahoma
Why? OU would be in the bottom half of the SEC in football investment. Why are they a championship contender in the SEC?

Because let's be honest, Arkansas is not a destination job.
People always say this but it's unsubstantiated. Arkansas rarely has assistants leave for the same position. There is serious football investment.

it doesn't hurt that his brother is the linebackers coach at OU.
Sam Pittman is one of his best friends, and he won't be managed by a defensive HC who might want a say in how the defense is called.
LSU Fans said the same thing last year, and their program is superior to OU. If Barry didn't leave for LSU, I doubt he's going to OU.

Potentially Odom as Venables DC
Potentially.
I am not sure it would be a tremendous boon to his career though. At Arkansas you can say you are coaching against some of the best teams in the country. At Oklahoma you can boast about playing Kansas.
If he does leave I trust Pittman to have other DCs he is looking at.

Idk if Odom will leave AR but they absolutely can’t match what OU can pay.

You’re athletic department is in for a rude awakening when you start trying to complete in the SEC.

I’m hearing rumors that OP is a fig. Nothing concrete. Just what my sources are telling me.

He will be a much leaner Kirby Smart who acts like a fool meddling in the defense

You'll be surprised what being in the SEC for 30 years does to your pocketbook.

Did Arkansas's coach just bolt for a better job? No?
But Oklahoma's did. Sorry you're a stepping stone program. But you are. #reality

Why would you want to work for Venables when you currently work with Sam Pittman? Night and day.

SEC move is going to be so painful for you when you realize you aren't even in the upper half in resources and no one wants to go to Norman freaking Oklahoma with no chance of ever winning championships again. Enjoy being the SEC version of Nebraska.
This is facts. OU glory days will be over once they join the SEC. In other news Texas will be a juggernaut with the right coach.

They will learn the hard way.

The best way to manage pretty much anything is to surround yourself with talented employees.

Can we rescind the offers to both schools?

You have perfectly described the fate Arky has faced since joining the SEC. Either the SEC is the toughest conference or it is a place to ruin your program but it is silly to stand on both sides of the fence.
