"Monday is a scheduled off day for the football team"
Saban told them "hell no, do that bullshite on your own time"

....or the players decided to do it on an off day instead of allowing it to interfere with practice?

"or the players decided to do it on an off day instead of allowing it to interfere with practice?"
That would be the responsible thing to do.
The protest would likely carry more weight if they were done in this manner instead of disrupting practice. I doubt this accomplishes much other than to show a selfish side of teams AND the subject of the protests wouldn't have;
A) broken the law
B) complied with police orders after resisting to the point of being tased, yet still was able to continue to resist to the point of reaching into his auto and could have easily produced a weapon and ended a life who were there simply doing their job....just comply with police orders....it's real simple...
I'm all for "causes" I just hate that politics have been forced into the game we all love...it's a no win situation when this happens.

This a hundred times over, this is not a problem with a national fix, each community has to square with itself on how they are handling police training and doing what they can to prevent these situations from happening, that being said it’s a fact of life that people are going to misbehave and when they do they have to accept that a direct result of their misbehaving may very well be the end of their life.

I hope this is true.

Seriously doubt it. Saban is a bigtime left-winger. The SJW stuff is right up his alley.

How bout the black people with a platform tell their brothers to stop breaking the law. Then the police won't be able to ge them.

quote:Let's just be honest: this protest could be conducted on the player's own time by a collection of people who only have 4.0 GPA's and thousands of hours of community service and have each personally donated a kidney to save the life of a military combat veteran and be led by a combination of of Tom Hanks, Mr. Rogers, and the second coming of Jesus Christ himself, and conservatives would still shite on it because they disagree with the basic premise of the march. Their "suggestions" and "concerns" don't matter any more than an Auburn fan's suggestions for Alabama's homecoming theme.
The protest would likely carry more weight if they were done in this manner instead of disrupting practice.

OR how about listening to the fans and donors to these universities and stop with the SJW mentality.
Better yet, stop glorifying a rapist who was breaking a restraining order!

Stop this bullshite. There is not a systemic racism problem in America, and blacks are not singled out or targeted by police. Matter of fact, white people are killed nearly 2 to 1 by police yearly. The difference? The liberal media doesn't report it because it doesn't fit the division narrative they are pushing. Stop believing bullshite.

Either way, it was the right thing to do.
