He's going to play again regardless of if its for Bama or the NFL. Might cost him a few bucks and a college season, but he's still going to make millions.

At least if he doesn't get to play for Bama, he'll reduce the risk of injury.

Yeah, Saban will have good players out there regardless. Y'all crack me up when y'all fret about the recruiting of an individual player.

I don't know much about the law but I find this a bit arbitrary. Why should someone have that much random influence? Why do we have laws? It should be pretty cut and dry. Here is what u did...this is the penalty for that offense. Be it a slap on the wrist or otherwise.

The law SHOULD be that black and white, but unfortunately it's very gray and changes daily with new case law being decided in courtrooms everywhere.

louisiana does have a pre trial intervention program, for 1st time offenders, where you do plea guilty, but after you serve probation the charges gets swiped off their record. But since they have weapons charges I think they don't qualify.

LA Diversion program requires residing in the state during the probation period I believe, which is served directly after the plea deal. IMO Cam will either qualify and take a deal like this, and can't play, or will extend the hearing through the Fall, which will force Bama to sit him until it's cleared. Hope the best for the kid, he's too good to not want to watch on the field, even if he doesn't play for your team.

DA can do whatever the hell he wants to do. They are the gods of the criminal justice world. They can charge capital murder as manslaugher and jaywalker as a repeat felon. It is not black and white anywhere other than it is best to be rich white and guilty than poor black and innocent everywhere.

Not necessarily. If he takes a plea deal with probation terms that still leaves the felony charge hanging over him he's done at bama. If he wants to sit around and wait for an indictment it's possible he could come back whenever that happens.

Jordan Jefferson didn't have a choice, no deal was offered and he waited seven weeks into the season until a grand jury decided he would only be indicted on misdemeanor charges and the felony was thrown out. He was reinstated to the team the next day.

It will get plead down. He'll get youthful offender status. He'll have a two game suspension to serve.

Draft stock will not be affected

The D.A. anywhere is a politician first, second, and third. And just how black & white is anything when a politician is involved? Speaking of La. only, a D.A. and a parish Sheriff are the 2 most powerful individuals in any parish in the State.

And best not to be a player from bama facing a felony charge in Louisiana or vice versa. With all the public attention on this I would not be looking for quick plea deal

I'd bet a steak dinner this gets plead down to a misdemeanor before the season. Saban will suspend him two games max, and he will play rest of season. Saban has already basically said he isn't kicking him off the team, so it's all about getting rid of the felony at this point. Does the NCAA have a rule about felonies or is it just UA? Dollars to donuts, Cam is suited up by Ole Miss if not sooner.
