What were they planning on doing with that stolen gun? The only reason you acquire a stolen gun is to commit a crime. Were they getting high before they robbed or murdered someone?

I agree, but weapons charges are no joke these days.
Curious to see how it all plays out. Its gonna hurt losing CR if it comes to that, but someone else is just going to have to figure out how to step up and the defense will need to carry us again.

**I remember all sorts of rumors of Cam all of the sudden driving a King Ranch F250 around the time he committed to Bama. That would be an interesting side note in all of this mess.
This wasn't a rumor. I mean, that truck was pretty hard to miss. They didn't even attempt to be subtle about it.

Who was the guy dealing cocaine on the Alabama campus that Saban booted a few years ago?
Jimmy Johns?
Dude makes an excellent sandwich.

Same. If it was just the weed, then I'd still think they were foolish, but with the gun...that's just some stupid arse thug bullshite. I bet they thought they were cool and tough. Good luck with that now.

It adds ammunition for Les Miles and Ed O in instate parents' houses.
Fair or not.

yes but even possessing a legal firearm in the presence of drugs is a pretty serious felony in LA
Actually it would appear that it is a misdemeanor since they were both charged with misdemeanor illegally carrying of a weapon in the presence of narcotics.
The only felony charge involved is the stolen weapon charge for Cam Robinson - which is serious and has the very real threat of prison time.

I hate Bama as much as the next guy, but their fans aren't melting over this. Disappointed, yes.

It was ten years ago but yeah. He's turned his life around and is a coach in Mississippi I believe.

Dealing coke in the back of Gallette's.
He also had an apartment full of pitt bulls.

I just hope it isn't Kirven who replaces him. Tim Williams made him look like a little school girl at Aday. I'd rather move Cotton to RT and Jonah to LT.

Having a stolen firearm can be explained by purchasing from someone you thought had legitimate ownership of the weapon they sold you. That may not be the situation here, but let's not act like that's never happened before. The rest of it really needs no explanation. Smoking weed should be legal and they aren't going to lock someone up over that. Having a gun is legal so I don't care about that. A charge for having a gun while smoking weed just seems like a crappy way to jam people up.
You're really grasping at straws at this point. It won't fly in the eyes of the law.

It's difficult for me to muster any sympathy for them either. Robinson was literally 11 months away from being set for life. That kind of stupid can't be rewarded with a second chance. Cut his arse. Same thing goes for Ingram.

Although Deborah Lane, associate vice president for university relations, did not specifically say the embattled former football player was expelled, Taylor's ineligibility for readmission follows UA's expulsion guidelines outlined by the Office of Student Conduct:
University Expulsion: Separation of the student from the University permanently or on an indefinite basis. A student permanently expelled is prohibited from reapplying to the University in the future or from earning a degree from any of its colleges or schools. Readmission of a student expelled on an indefinite basis may not occur within five years and shall require the recommendation of the Vice President for Student Affairs and approval of the Provost. If a disciplinary action results in the Judicial Administrator determining that expulsion is the appropriate sanction, then the Vice President for Student Affairs shall review the sanction and shall make the final decision to expel after consultation with the President of the University. Because a decision to expel a student is made after consultation with the President, a student has no right to request a review of the sanction of expulsion.
