Newly hired Sam Pittman was set to make 275k in his first year at Arkansas. That was before Bama came calling. Now he is going to be making 500k and got two more years added to his contract.

All this before even coaching a single practice.

That is about how much you would have to pay me to move from God's country to T-Town

Trolled? I will happily pay our (most likely) best and (definitely) most important position coach 500k. Look up his history. The man is a miracle worker and our O Line needs a miracle. It's not like we're running out of money. We have as much as pretty much anyone.

Pittman is a lights our recruiter and a very good ol coach. how did we get trolled? Bama would have taken him in a heartbeat if we didn't have more money to throw around.

Yeah, I have no problem with us paying that much. He is definitely worth it imo. It just would be nice to work in a profession where someone will almost double your salary without much physical evidence in your current job to base it on. I wish my bosses were that cool.

If he'd have gone to UA I'd have paid to be in those coaching meetings, he's not known for his patience and on more than one occasion has made it known his opinion of a HC.

Congrats on retaining a coach whose qualities cannot be utilized given the inherent, unshakable disadvantages that encumber the University of Arkansas.

Did he not do wonders for your line in one season?

500K is a bit much, but hell pay what it takes to keep him. In 3 weeks he already recruited better than than anyone Petrino had.

Yeah in just a month he pulled in our best out of state OL class in the Recruiting Rankings era. Ill take that over what we have been doing for the last few years.

Lulz! Miracle worker! Lulz!

The dude was below average at UNC in a run heavy offense and came to Tennessee and did okay with an offense line that returned everyone and 4 of the 5 starters were future NFL players (Stone/Richardson/Thomas/James) and were already great pass blockers.

He's an okay coach but certainly not worth half a million, lol. And Harry Hiestand and the guy that left with Kiffin recruited the current talent on UT's line. Pittman whiffed on everyone in his stint - so your recruiting on the oline this season likely had more to do with your new HC and his style of play and notoriety to be honest and for good reason. A lot of offensive lineman should want to come play for Bielema.

Wrong. Two of them would be in the Tennessee class right now if he hadn't left and the other credits Pittman as the reason he is coming.

Obviously style of play does help as well. If we had hired him along with Sonny Dykes then yes we probably would have had zero shot at any of those three.

Lol - do you realize who Skipper had offers from when he committed to UT? He had offers from nobody. He didn't blow up until the end and many thought he was a reach at the time. And the other recruit you speak of is just speculation as he never committed to us.

Guess you also ignore the fact UT failed to sign a single lineman the previous year - that's right 0 - now the offensive line situation is a giant mess following this season. And he even missed out on a 4* lineman from the state of Tennessee to Vanderbilt.. when his parents were both UT alumni.. and the kid grew up a UT. He has elite recruiter written all over him.

You're giving him too much credit - it's on Bielema for sure. Skipper was planning on de-committing from UT prior to Tennessee not retaining Pittman - so he got Koehler which is a nice pickup but that's about it.
