this is absolutely ridikulous!!! LSU didn't have this same favor done for them when we had to play, what, 3-4 teams coming off of a bye week last season. Including Alabama and Florida.

They'll develop a theory on how they aren't recieving an advantage.

this just in....bama decided that they dont want to play anybody in the sec

What a load of complete BS. And the crappy thing is that in 4-5 years the same thing is gonna happen to another SEC school, they'll complain, and the SEC will just say "sorry, we don't have the time or the resources right now to change everything just for one team".

You have got to be f*c*i*g be kidding me. Accomodating Bama...WTF? Who else does the SEC Office accomodate? NOONE! First, they dont have a true schedule with the Bama - Tenn game the reason. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that these two could still play every year....even if there were no opposite division permanent opponent. The years that they wouldn't play each other in a conference game, they could play each other in a non conference game. How hard is that to figure out? Then the SEC Baseball Tourney ALWAYS being held in Hoover....guess who THAT benefits.....when they make it in? Now this??? frick Bama...I hope they lose every freaking game they play in everything until the apacolypse!
What I would do if I were LSU, Ole Miss, So Carolina, Tennessee, Miss State and Auburn....is say..."No thanks, we like our schedule just the way we planned it. It is unfortunate that Alabama has this situation, but that's THEIR PROBLEM, not ours. Sorrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyy!!!"
....and yes, after I would say that, I would roll on the floor and laugh my arse off. These six schools should be on conference call, as I type, planning to tell the SEC Office to get fricked!

Bloom said the entire schedule wouldn’t be torn up to accommodate Alabama
Yeah right, we know how impartial those guys in Birmingham are.

so that the Crimson Tide wouldn’t have to play so many teams next season on the heels of byes.
Funny, during LSU's "hurricane season", the league office wasn't too too worried about LSU having to rattle off someting like 9 games without a break because of the hurricane situation in the state & the campus being used as a medi-vac area. Nobody in Birmingham was real concerned about LSU playing so many games in a row-without a bye-against many teams coming off bye weeks.

“This is something that’s important to the entire league, because nobody wants to be in that same position a year or two from now
I'll wait & see what happens when a "non" alabama team is put in the same situation, not so sure the league offices will be willing to "protect" the other 10 members.
League offices need to be moved, having the SEC league offices in alabama is a joke. NOt sure where it should be moved but out of alabama is a GREAT start.
G E A U X T I G E R S!!!

Why wasn't the SEC all over the BCS in 2004 when Auburn had their undefeated season? Whether you like Auburn or not, had that been Alabama with an undefeated season, regardless WHO they played, the SEC would have made damn sure that Bama was in the NC game....or at least they would have fought for them. They didn't fight for Auburn, they just let it go. Trust me, we all know this!
I'd rather the SEC Office be located in L.A. on USC's campus than where it is now. Birmingham has ALWAYS been a problem for the other eleven members of the conference. F*C* Birmingham!...and Alabama!
Kentucky has the basketball tradition, LSU has the baseball tradition.....you don't see the SEC catering to either one of them like you do with Alabama. Especially LSU.....we have to go to Hoover (not that I really mind Hoover because it is a great time) every freaking year for the SEC Baseball Tournament. Please tell me why in the hell it can't be played at Zephyr?.....or at Turner?....or in Memphis at their VERY NICE ballpark? WHY? WHY? WHY?
Where are the answers?...oh that's right, the SEC Office doesn't have to give answers...
WTF?

Since 2007, these are the number of SEC games played when the opponent had an open week prior to the game:
17—Alabama
5—LSU
4—Vanderbilt
4—Florida
4—Tennessee
3—Georgia
3—Auburn
2—Kentucky
1—Ole Miss
1—Mississippi State
0—Arkansas
0—South Carolina
I hate that the SEC offices are always catering to Alabama

so that makes it ok to make teams change their set schedules?
Posted on 3/11/10 at 3:12 pm to bigpapamac
The fact of the matter is that whether or not you had more games with an opponent following a bye week, you're complaining about it now and getting it revamped to benefit you.
And if alabama, according to yall, are so good, you should be able to win every game anyways?

First of all, its highly unlikely that anything on next year's schedule changes no matter what you read. Secondly, Mal Moore did not go to the SEC and try to get them to change the 2010 schedule. He went to call attention to the recent trend so that when future schedules are made this doesn't continue to happen. All the attention this is getting is simply for that, nobody expects or even wants the schedule for this year to change, they just want to shed some light on an unfair trend to prevent it from continuing. All these conspiracy theory threads just help the cause. Finally, you act like it would be some huge ordeal to move on or two games around, as though it would be some major problem for a school to have a game 7 months away pushed back a week or something

Last 4 Bama coaching staffs have had at least one team ranked #1 in the league in fewest penalties.
GFY

Two of those coaches have also had national championship winning teams, three won the SEC and all four had teams ranked in the top five at one point. But yea, I'm sure the refs just favor Alabama because the SEC tells them to. Its pathetic some people are so paranoid to believe that garbage.

Despite all this, it's a good idea to consider bye weeks when making future conference schedules.
