I think that is the correct measure, to deal with this proactively so that it is not an issue each year. It could affect any team, so why not find a solution to make it better serve the entire league?

Wouldn't it be something if they made every team schedule OOC game after their bye weeks. And they encouraged a tougher ooc schedule. But I think bama and lsu did well this year with Penn st, Ga Tech, WVU, and UNC. Should make things interesting.

I may be mistaken, but Vanderbuilt played 12 straight weeks THIS past year... 2009.

I know it's just Vandy, but I didn't hear them bitching about it.

Vandy probably figures that a bye week would interfere with their true mission, academics. They don't have an athletic department, do you think they care about bye weeks?

Those of us who WANT to win want to be on a level playing field. Vandy's crazy schedule is self inflicted since they placed OOC games in spaces that could have been byes in the league mandated SEC schedule. Thats a far cry from Bama's situation.
