6'7 explains the jump balls...but not him running 95 yards and hardly being touched...
Evans is a man child - shite happens in a game. I would have never thought Kenny Bell would have cut loose like he did and run in a TD - but shite happens.

I don't see the Aggies knashing their teeth over their defenses execution, and I won't knash mine over Bama defense.

I checked rosters too. Oregon overall is about 15 to 20 lbs lighter on average than the Ag's Oline, so I could see more pressure on their QB, and their receivers don't have near the size. Their tallest starter is 5'11"

I think Oregon benefits from playing in a weak conference without any real defensive competition. I know Bama would beat them based on the A&M game. I would also put my money on LSU, A&M, Ole Miss, Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.

To be honest, I think y'all lack leadership and drive!! Especially the D, mayb feeling a lil entitled after 2 ships and all the fans/media saying how invincible y'all are?? What sucks is we don't play y'all until the end of the year so y'all can recover some of this, but they better start working because LSU isn't playn this year, they tired of losing these games and after this week, the offense will prove its worth against SEC defenses, even though it's not one of the best it's still SEC! LSU still has it's holes but they are being fixed every week! Everyone just keep doubting us please!

Even if one "stays with Mike Evans" does not mean he will still not outjump and catch the ball.

I really dont see why everyone is complaining about the Bama D. Evans was held to 7 catches. 279 yards, but only 7 catches. Thats pretty good. 95 of those yards were on a play that the DB just got beat. (That happens to every team at some point in the game)

You wont see another Manziel/Evans combo all year. Calm the frick down with the cashing in the season. You dont even have a basketball team to look forward to.

which is probably why Saban addressed things in his press conference.

quote:

"Nobody wants to be obedient now," Saban said. "The sign says keep your dog on the leash. And you're walking your dog on the leash and somebody else's dog is trying to bite your pants legs off. Why is that dog not on a leash? 'Because I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm not going to do what I'm coached to do, I'm not going to do what the rule says. I'm going to do what I want to do.'

"If you're supposed to look at your man and you're looking at the backfield, that's not going to get it."

quote:

"We did it with the offensive line after the first game -- guys competed better," Saban said. "So now guys need to compete better.

"And it's not just the corners now, the safeties weren't where they were supposed to be in the game some, too."

quote:

"No matter how many times you tell someone, 'Look, son. Don't touch the stove. It's hot.' Once they touch it and get burned, then they start saying, 'Huh, maybe I'll listen to this guy. Maybe Dad knows what he's talking about,'" Saban said, "So, I think a lot of lessons were learned in this game. So now, when you say, 'Don't drop your hands when you're playing bump and run,' and the guy does it 15 times in a game against me, now you'll see why you were telling him."

Mike Evans is not as slow as yall think. He runs a 4.54 which isnt insanely fast, but its pretty damn good considering how big he is. His fastest 40 was 4.47 worst was 4.68.

evans is the best we will face all year...but all you bama fans stating there isn't a problem and we are fine obviously didn't watch the game very closely...we got man handled in man coverage all day and that is our specialty. save for one, Belue.

granted aTm has the athletes to do that to us, evans was the best player on the field all day...

I don't think it as much as Fulton getting burnt but he can't find the ball in the air. On several Evans catches Fulton is there but has no clue the ball is in the air until its too late. Evans looking for ball but Fulton still hasn't turned his head.

and that's something you cant coach...not saying it will hurt us all year but it was obvious aTm had the advantage at most the reciver positions

tbh while fulton was in coverage if JFF didn't underthrow a couple of balls to him he would have had a few more TD's...fulton was getting abused all day

Nobody is saying that. We're just saying a lot is fixable, some was just going against better players. I think the ones saying we're horrible and players should have made impossible plays are the ones who didn't watch the game. Just like that clip I posted. The DB was burnt off the line and had nobody in the middle to help. 2 players screwed up and didn't do what they were supposed to do. Fixable.

LSU! Not 6'7 but 6'4 and 6'3..... And yes we can spread it out, and our D is 5 times better! Put it this way..... We can score 40 plus and have a very good Dline!

Watch the play from the endzone

You'll see the DB beat off the line and the Safety on the complete opposite side of the field.

Looks to me like a 5'10 190 lb CB was trying to bump/run a 6-5 225 lb WR with no safety help AT ALL. If anything, that was either a blown coverage by the safety, or piss poor play calling by the DC. It's nearly impossible to bump/run cover a guy that has arm reach like Evans. His arms length alone gives him enough separation.

Nothing on that play would concern me regarding talent.

Spot on. I think Saban talking about how many times hands were down, allowing the WR's to burn them off the line contributed to this. He was lost on the play several times. Before the ball got there, you knew he wasn't going to make a play because he was playing catch up.
