My point was to hint that Bama lost pkaymakers too, not just Michigan.
A Saban recruited, and led, D is gonna be able to absorb losses a little bit better than UM...wouldn't ya say?

After watching their improvement from 2010-2011, it is definitely possible. We've all seen that scheme and coaching plays a huge part in a defense being successful. Michigan will be fine on defense. Plug and play.

Robinson was not the player under Borges he was in Rich Rod's system

What am I grasping at? That Michigan's D will plug and play and be fine?

He isn't the best passer. I wonder how much improvement he will show from 2011-2012.

i see michigan making more progress this year. at this point i have a lot of respect with what brady hoke has done. however, i dont believe they're any where near bama. i expect the game to be good for a while but bama takes charge and wins fairly easily.

Michigan's defense is garbage as frick. They lost all 4 dline starters and return like 4 starters. They sucked to begin with. They gave up close to 400 yards a game in the Big Ten.

Two studs from Detriot Gholston & Worthy both ended up on Mark Dantonio's Michigan State roster.
# 1 Gholston a hybird DE/OLB is all american caliber

I don't think you watched them at all last year, did you? You know they had a top 20 defense, right? You have to be thinking about their 2010 team.

Yes, I am. Watch Michigan play defense this year. This isn't the same defense that was under Rich Rod.

I am not too high on the round peg Robinson flourshing in Borges' square hole offense

Will be cheering for Michigan, but Bama will curbstomp 'em. Either way, I'll be happy I guess

I'm thinking that Michigan will do the un thinkable and not cross the 50 yard line. Wait a second.......

Like everyone else said, it's hard to draw conclusions from the spring game, but I saw confidence on both sides of the ball. I was especially impressed with the O-Line. I believe AJ was sacked 3 or 4 times, which is impressive in the spring game because just touching the QB is a sack. Also, he passed over 40 times, so giving him that much protection against touch-sacks from the 1st team D was awesome, IMO.
Another good thing I took away was that B Jones and AJ seemed to be in sync with the exchange. Good news when breaking in a new center, let alone replacing one as good as Vlachos.

A top 20 defense that gave up over 315 yards a game in the Big 10 and gave up 31 points and 34 points in games is not going to compete with Alabama especially since they return like no one. Go look at their depth chart. What makes Alabama's defense so good and remain good is that when someone like Barron and Hightower leave they have rotational starters that take a higher role and more packages and a young guy comes up and follows role.
