I feel exactly the same. Like we will destroy them.

All Eyes(z) On Campbell
Well… there's no denying he looked a lot better.
Like, a lot. Last spring game guy was a lump who managed to not get blown off the ball most of the time and just about never did anything. During the year he was largely that with some nice plays mixed in, but too infrequently to be encouraging. In the spring game he had clearly progressed enough to actually beat his man to the gap more than once.
You know all those runs Rawls had where he had to abort mission and find another hole? Most of those were headed at Campbell. Since we got a baseline for Ricky Barnum in the time he got before his ankle injury last year—decent Big Ten player even then—that's a hopeful sign.
Mattison and Hoke hated it, though, hated everything. I am factoring in further improvement as this line Heningers themselves into ship shape by fall. Enough to survive a 'Bama onslaught? Probably not, but they'll be okay afterwards.

Michigan cannot throw the football consistently enough to beat Alabama. Plus I think Alabama's defensive line talent and depth is sick and can hold up against anyone in the country. They say the game is won in the trenches and I must say Alabama has a great group on the O and D lines. The O line doesn't have quite the depth of the D line, but the starting 5 should be top 3 in the country.

Roh and Black each showed some pass-rush ability from their spots and neither got ostentatiously rammed into the endzone on a big run play. The going was tough for the offense. With four-ish starters back from an OL that paved the way for Michigan running backs—IE, no Denard—to average 5.7 YPA last year, I'll place that in the good column. The extremely tenuous good column. One nice thing the moves do is it allows Mattison to play a ton of games with his line. Black and Roh can both function as outside DEs just fine, so Mattison can call plays where the line slants and stunts such that one of those guys ends up playing a WDE-ish slot whenever he wants. What Michigan lacks in bulk they'll have to make up for with quickness and the element of surprise; Mattison will have some chess pieces to do that with next year. Note that the touch sack on the Gardner waggle came from the containing… Black. Usually your three-technique is not the guy asked to do that. The depth here was also encouraging. Richard Ash made a couple nice plays, which I was not expecting. One was an excellent string-out on a stretch play that forced the tailback to awkwardly cut behind him. I was beyond not expecting that. I don't think John Gasaway will get on me if I say I was shocked. Yeah. Later he showed up two yards in the backfield directly in the path of an iso; he got blocked from the side but the bounce he forced saw Marvin Robinson chop poor Vincent Smith down for a one-yard loss. Redshirt freshman Keith Heitzman also was a standout on the second units, though his inability to flow down the line at the proper angle was the main issue on Rawls's fourth-and-short touchdown. He got into the backfield plenty. Once you've got a guy who can get there it's not that hard to get him to take the right angle against air.

I agree, which is why I said DeNard Robinson isn't the best passer. I'm sure he will show a little improvement from last year though. At least you would think its probable.

Be honest. There is a little bit of Frazier hope in this DeNard love...isn't there?

First off, no. Their careers won't be much alike.
WTF is this? I just think its probable for him to improve his passing after being in Borges' system for another year. He was pretty much an average passer last year. Nothing special.

Alabama will likely have the number 1 Defense again.
DLINE: Damion Square,Senior (returning starter)
Jesse Williams, Senior (returning starter)
Quinton Dial, Senior (returning starter in rotational packages)
Linebacker: Nico Johnson, Senior (returning starter)
CJ Mosely, Junior (returning starter)
Trey Depriest, Sophomore (direct backup to Hightower with significant PT, including title game)
Adrian Hubbard, RS Sophomore (Direct backup to Sam and Jack LB last season and will be an improvement from Jarrell Harris)
Xzavier Dickson, Sophomore (Huge contributor on Special Teams and Mop-up duty)
Safety: Robert Lester, Senior (returning starter)
Vinnie Sunseri, Sophomore (returning rotational starter, Nickel and Dime FS last year)
HAHA Clinton-Dix, Sophomore (Significant PT and special teams contributor and Mop-up duty)
Cornerback: Dee Milliner, Junior (returning starter)
John Fulton, Junior (Solid special teams and playing time)
Deion Belue and Travell Dixon both All American Juco Corners.
Please enlighten me on the inexperience???
I know you said not a knock, but I see no weakness or inexperience.

Whereas that was the case last year, (maybe the best defense I've ever seen in college), I don't agree with that this year. Just too much top notch talent lost. I know the guys recruited after them are studs, but they're young and inexperienced. It takes time. (This is not a knock. You'll still have an upper echelon defense.)

I don't know if Alabama will have the #1 defense again, but I do not think they will be far from it. They do have a very nice blend of vets and young inexperience players. This years defense is much better than the 2010 defense poeple keep comparing it to.
I just think the talent and depth on the D line is too much to overcome in a battle for 4 quarters. I think the defensive line alone will affect the QB enough that Alabama will not have to blitz and they can play safe in the secondary.
Square is a senior and he played well last year. Jessie Williams is a monster and he will be more experienced this year. Dial reminds me alot of Brandon Deadrick. Ed Stinson plays similar to Square. Then you have two of the most gifted players on the team in terms of size and athleticism with Pagan and Fanning.
The depth, size, and talent of that line is something I have not seen in a while.

Don't sleep on Russell Love. He is undersized but is a Nick Gentry clone. I expect him to play in passing situations. He has a mean streak that his brother never posessed. He is too light to be a run stopper but has an outstanding motor.

As a LSU fan we will be good. That being said, Mi will be glad when this game is over. This will be the year that Saban shows just how good he is.
Anyone who thinks Bama will only be ok is in for a bad case of the runs. Unless we can beat them at home look for them to win the SEC.
Ps. If you say I'm nuts show me where the weakness is.
Qb? NCMVP
Kicking? Punter was 45yds+ in spring game
PK? #1or#2 Hs kicker in US lastyear
Kind'a sux.

Everyone take note from Herman. I was the first one to say Texas was going to piss all over everyone with Vince Young and the same with Tebow and Florida. Alabama is on that roll, hopefully and probably a lot longer than Florida. We are already past their accomplishments as of now.
