That’s probably where he’ll spend a lot time in addition to traveling. But his daughter and grandkids live in Birmingham if I’m not mistaken. I think the son is in Tuscaloosa. He’s also got the car dealerships here. He’ll have the office for when he’s in town.

There are still a lot of kids that go to these schools along with Bama and several others for the school. BK is recruiting a lot of Louisiana kids that have grown up loving LSU in hopes that they stay. Bama has a ton of kids that have grown up in Alabama that have always dreamed of playing at Bama

Where is this coming from? Any Alabama fan will tell you Saban was the best recruiter in college football for a long time… Alabama gave him the resources to continue to be the best recruiter, hire the best staff, maintain the best facilities. The kids wanted to play for Saban, nobody is questioning that? Alabama gave Saban whatever he needed to get those kids to win championships. Both parties were committed to excellence and it was a great fit for everyone involved.

Pointing out that a HS recruit would want to play for the best college football coach ever, as if that’s a bad thing, is just stupid as shite. It’s obvious. Of course they did. It was a fast track to the NFL, which is really what these kids are looking for anyway. It was mutually beneficial.

You think Zion wanted to go play for Duke? Or could it have been because K was there? All the kids Cal pulled to Lexington wanted to play for Kentucky? Or wanted Cal to get them to the NBA and try to win a trophy during their 1 year in school?

High profile recruits want to win, get drafted, and play pro ball, so they go play for the guys that can get them there. They don’t play for schools anymore. They play for their careers.

If DeBoer proves he can be successful at Alabama and compete for the conference and playoff berths, Alabama’s AD will support him in the same manner. If Saban’s tenure at Alabama has proven anything, it’s that when the right coach is in town, Alabama football can still be a dominant force. It might be now or it might be 30 years from now, but the two most successful football coaches to ever walk a college sideline both worked in Tuscaloosa and you think that’s a coincidence?

Funny, I don’t remember Bama fans sharing the same sentiment when Gibbs, Burton, Ricks, etc., transferred in
Hypocritical jackasses

You assume i felt differently about those players. Quitting is quitting dumbass. Just because its BAMA makes no difference to me. I was raised in a different time. These guys will play in the NFL no matter the team. maybe some other player may leave trying to get exposure to be able to reach that goal. So not all circumstances are the same. But to quit on your teammates for greener pastures and a bag is just another sign of the ME first culture.

Lol, forgive me for “assuming” you sanctimonious piece of shite

Shout it from the mountain top and let it ring in the ears of all of those that frequent The Rant

BAMAsack believes that all players that transfer to bama are quitters that took the bag and the easy way out

Nobody better to tear down Bama than the one guy they revered

Saban brought the Dynasty down with him

He'll be starting with a staff that recruited him HEAVILY. He knows them well.

Our last 3 coaches were made champions at LSU with zero success beforehand. And aside from saban, zero success afterwards. Our players do come to play for LSU, not Les Miles, coach O or even Kelly….

I don’t blame any of these kids. Best of luck to them. For years coaches leave kids high and dry for more money. Schools seek bigger and more lucrative tv deals to fund the AAU sports and build better facilities. Only group that did not benefit were the players.

Wait till the kids unionize and threaten to strike.

More power to the kids.

There's no reason to feel that way when everybody is working with the same rules. Right now, Bama's rules are different from any coaching change that has taken place in the NIL era. 130 teams can bid against each other for our players, but we aren't allowed to replace them.

You can replace them when the portal opens in the spring.

Otherwise, you have to blame Saban for not taking the timing into account.

Would you have rathered it happen when half your recruiting class could have bailed like LSU had to deal with?

College football now in the age of nil really is like the stock market. Boom and busts and recoveries again. More so now than ever before. And every once in a while you have flashes in the pan like UW or TCU, just like hot stocks that eventually fell hard. Because you were once good before doesn’t mean as much now in this new world. Why can’t Georgia be the new Bama and go on a 10 year run or Ole Miss or LSU. Look at pro sports. All the dynasties fell eventually. College football had all the talent concentrated in basically 4 schools every year. But not anymore. We have all been through periods of our teams being irrelevant. Once the momentum goes the other way it takes a very long time for it to reverse. Especially in a portal world. Bama fans super naive to think this never was going to happen to them. Like patriots fans who never saw them have a losing season ever lol.

It was pretty solid parenting when they let their kids accept all those new Dodge Chargers and Hummers back in the day though eh ? Best car collections on campus yearly. Lol.

That's bad for you. He and the other kids got a chance to pick the staff they wanted, and they didn't pick Bama.

These losses reverberate too.
