Also, I am pretty "involved" with UA at this point (I feel like we've had this conversation before?). So sure, I'm obsessed. Doesn't make me wrong.

This isn't a real assessment of what he did wrong. This is an excuse. That's the point. Hell I'm happy about it. Keep on believing that your gameplan was perfect.

Keep believeing the gameplan was perfect? We literally turned over almost our entire staff.

You think that was because Saban thought we just got unlucky and had some bad bounces? Your takeaway from his remarks is that he was satisfied with our prep, plan and execution in that game and the 2 before it? Seriously?

Meanwhile, the rest of the league took notes on Clemson's offense and will use it against him.

I could ask you the same question.

0-1 sets. Big-on-big. RPO. Three-second routes. Its all there on the tape. Clemson has an elite passer and one elite WR, no doubt, but other teams have guys who can get it done, too.

Clemson has the best QB in the country and 3 NFL receivers.

You act like this is the first time an opposing offense has lit Alabama up. Did everyone suddenly start copying 2013 A&M, 2014 Ohio St, 2015 Clemson, 2016 Ole Miss or 2017 Auburn?

Not to mention that team was that team. This one is different. Weaker at some spots, stronger and older at others (CB for one).

Maybe but other teams have talent, too. They weren't doing anything special.

Feels different. Watershed moment. Got outcoached and now getting outrecruited. People are getting tired of Saban's a-hole act and don't want to work/play for him.

Give it three years and you'll see tDecline is real.

Lost by four touchdowns with clear blueprint for replication. Losing unprecedented amounts of talent to the NFL. Losing unprecedented amounts of coaching talent. Getting outrecruited by Clemson and LSU early in 2020 class. Saban blaming player effort for failures.

These are empirical observations, not hopes and feels.

A simple “I have to do a better job keeping the team focused” would have sufficed. But he can’t help himself. He’s never met a bus he wasn’t willing to throw his team under.

OK just so we are clear. Look at Clemson's High School schedule THIS YEAR. Understand?

If they get by Aggy, they have a stroll in the park back to the playoffs. WHOEVER they play, they will have weeks to get ready for them. Should they get top seed, which they will not deserve because of a lack of strength of schedule. last year's scenario could well repeat itself as far as opponent draw goes.

Should they drop a game, they do not deserve a spot.

I gave it about 3 weeks after the watershed defeat and Saban signed the highest rated class he's brought in to the Capstone. May want to rethink your hypothesis.

So desperate to create a narrative.

It's just another dipshit LSU fan digging a hope hole.

Clemson benefited from it's extremely easy schedule. Alabama had a top 5 team in LSU. A senior laden MSU. An ultra talented top 10 Georgia, and the Heisman led Oklahoma. Clemson had an overrated Notre Dame and that is it. They planned for Alabama all year and it showed.

Got it. It’s not that the team lost focus or intensity as Coach said then, they actually lost because their schedule was too hard and Clemson’s was too easy. Not “we got our behinds kicked” but “our schedule isn’t fair”.

PS, you do realize the narrative outside of gumpland is that Bama’s regular season schedule is much lighter than their SEC peers every year right? UT permanent opponent. After realignment UGA moved back in the rotation, bye week scheduling benefits, etc.

Sometimes you just get your arse whooped. Even happens to GOATs. But it had been so long since Alabama had taken a beatdown like that (1998 at Arkansas?) that some fans still cant cope.

The real question is, of course, what is LSU going to do this year to make themselves look even dumber, and draw even more attention, to this year’s annual Alabama beatdown?
