Well, it isn't like Saban is going to come out and admit he was outcoached. That shite was embarrassing though

He's never going to take the blame for a loss. Bama fans on here swear up and down that it's Saban's coaching that makes the players and them win but when they lose (especially the humiliating losses) they avoid mentioning he was coaching the game at all cost.

Bama is so good that the only team that can beat them is bama

They really kicked their own arse in the championship game

Good lord you people are obsessed.

People who like improving go through their losses/failures and find things to fix. No human being who wants to improve sits around saying "I mean I tried but the other guy was just better than me nothing else I could do".

He gets asked questions about what went wrong and he answers them honestly. On what planet do people want boring arse coach speak instead of honest, real answers.

"Gosh I wish he'd stop answering the questions with his serious analysis and opinion and just give a boilerplate quick vanilla answer"

not sure why but i read this as if george was yelling it

Well, nobody in the SEC West really gave them a game last year, certainly not LSU (didn't even score). So I can sort of see his point

TBH Bama has run roughshod over the SEC for years.
Don’t be offended that they will have a target on their backs.
It would happen to any school.

Bama's off-season round robin of excuses...

1) We lost focus/inflated egos
2) Clemson didn't actually game plan for any opponents and only obsessed over Bama every week of the season
3) Clemson was well rested and we weren't due to all of the close games we had all year
4) Clemson plays a JV schedule
5) Bama had too much turnover of assistants

Pick your poison. On the Bama board it's claimed that these excuses are not really excuses for why they didn't win, it's just more of an explanation for why they didn't win. :)

... At least the posters on the Bama board were good sports about my attempts to call it excuse making.

You know what excuses Clemson made after all the times they lost to Alabama?

Me either, I never gave a frick.

The previous year Bama's D whipped our Os butts. They were clearly the better team, and I didn't have a problem admitting it.

I am sure some Clemson fans were sore over being a one seed and facing Bama with an extra week of rest, but it doesn't matter... They were just better that year.

"They were just better".

How and why?

Your response sounds like something a pussy would say because they are scared to put out a real opinion.

There is some truth to this. Poor coaching has cost Alabama several more titles over the past decade. But not last January, Clemson just kicked their arse.

Two years ago, Clemson's offense was not dynamic in the pass game and our WRs were not as complete/talented as other recent squads.

Our D actually did a decent job... Good enough to win.

Bama's D that year was a bad matchup for our O. We play that game five times and we might win one.

Excuses are for poor sports.

So these are reasons, but if an Alabama fan names these types of things, then it's excuses.

This isn't a real assessment of what he did wrong. This is an excuse. That's the point. Hell I'm happy about it. Keep on believing that your gameplan was perfect. Meanwhile, the rest of the league took notes on Clemson's offense and will use it against him.

That's not the way this operation works. Figuring out how and why those things were true and what has to change is how it works.
