Watched the history of the SEC, I believe that was the title on ESPN yesterday morning. Very interesting documentary on the history of SEC football. I had no idea the connection between Knute Rockne and Bama.
Bear Bryant's head coach was a former ND QB for Rockne back in the day. Frank Thomas had quite the career at Bama and really jump started what became one of the best CFB programs of all time.
If you haven't watched...I think it's a 9 part series...you should take the time to learn the history of the SEC and your school...great to watch.

Knute Rockne's the reason the sport's as exciting as it is, popularized the forward pass

I don't believe we need to be reminded of the histories of these two programs.
One ding dong was at a game and tried to give me a history lesson. I said I already know the history and I don't care to listen, step aside nature has called.

For reference.
ND Alabama history.
This is what I remember most about that series.

I think you gotta go back before Thomas to see where Bama's dominance started.

I’d guess Wallace Wade winning a Rose Bowl in the 1920s made Alabama the brand they were prior to Coach Bryant.
Then Saban came and rewrote everything.
