It isn't a matter of if but when he gets a head coaching job. He's a good coach

Rhett Lashlee is to Gus as Kirby is to Nick.
They're both just lap dogs and pawns carrying out the orders of their masters.

I think it would be a great opportunity for him.

He is too young to expect a good Power 5 HC job and if he doesn't want to wait its a perfect fit

hope he stays at least one year. Remember the last time we replaced two coordinators.

Been wondering when someone would take this guy. He's a good OC, and his system that he and Gus (actually, all Gus) have are nearly unstoppable. I think he'll be a good coach.

when we beat him in flag football in college he was a whiney gash the whole game.
I assume nothing has changed so frick him.

Same here...If he can replicate Malzahn's offense at Tulsa and start winning, it won't be long before he's back in a Power 5 Conference as a HC

Malzahn did this in 07 and 08.
During the 2007 season Malzahn emerged as one of the premier offensive coordinators in the nation, as Tulsa ranked 1st in the nation in total yards per game, ahead of Texas Tech and Hawai?i, and with a more balanced attack than both teams.[7] The Golden Hurricane also ranked 3rd in the nation in passing[8] and led their conference in scoring. Tulsa became the first team in NCAA history to have a 5,000-yard passer, a 1,000-yard rusher and three 1,000-yard receivers in a single season.[9][10]
After the regular season, Malzahn interviewed for the open position at Arkansas once Nutt resigned in November 2007.[11]
In 2008, Tulsa was again the nation's most prolific attack, leading with nearly 7,980 total yards of offense averaging 570 yards per game.[12] The Golden Hurricane were ranked 2nd in the nation in scoring behind Oklahoma, scoring over 47 points per game.[13] Tulsa not only ranked 2nd in the nation in scoring that year, but finished with the 2nd highest scoring offense in the history of major college football. The offense was also the nation's most balanced attack, ranking 5th in the nation in rushing[14] and 9th in passing.[15] The Tulsa quarterbacks finished 3rd in the nation in passing efficiency, behind only Oklahoma and Texas.[16]
As for Lashlee getting a head coaching gig, he'll definitely get one soon, but I do think he may need a few more years as an assistant. He's only been an assistant for 3 years at the college level. He was a GA at Auburn in 09 and 10, OC at Samford in 11, OC at Ark St in 12 and OC at AU last year.

He deserves it. I think it's the perfect set-up for him to cut his teeth at a real coaching position.

If this happens I think it would be great to promote CDC to OC/QB and move Kodi Burns into Craig's old role...

Don't know 'bout that...read an article a while back where Gus mentioned how he highly valued Lashlee's input and getting another perspective/feedback. As for Kirby, while he runs Saban's preferred style of defense, according to a Kiffin interview during the Broyles ceremony, Smart makes all of the defensive calls...

Well considering Dameyune Craig is the co-offensive creator and that in all actuality Craig and Lashlee have nothing to do with calling offensive plays as it's all Gus's show...Auburn's not really losing their offensive coordinator.
