I read this on reddit and it made me tear up.
quote:
This is awful. He's from where a good friend of mine grew up. She told me a story that happened after the auburn title run. Supposedly the players go on a tour with the trophy and fans come and get autographs. Lutz's mom waited in line for more than a couple of hours to get her own son's autograph. I thought it was a very sweet act and goes to show the quality of character with which she raised her son. I can't imagine what she's going through now.

Twenty three is so young and too young to pass. The only thing positive I can say is if God told you had twenty three years to live your life and that was all then Phillip Lutzenkirchen definitely did it right. May he rest in peace.
This. Well said

My buddy told me yesterday the driver had his blood drawn and there was alcohol in his system.
If that is incorrect though I apologize. I never read or searched out if that was true or not

Thoughts, prayers, and condolences to his family and the Auburn family.
That guy terrorizes my memories from 2010 Iron Bowl. I hope he's catching passes up in heaven getting ready for a rematch.
Rest in Peace Lutz. War Damn!

Very sad to hear this. Phillip was very well liked here in Montgomery - he coached and motivated a group of young players last year and many are deeply saddened by his passing. Lutz was the kid of guy that these teenage boys need - a good role model and a good friend. He will be missed.
