Hate to hear news like that. Prayers

As much as we all give each other shite, I think we can all agree that news like this is bad all around

That's great, thank you.

I gotta stop reading this stuff. I'm a little older the Lutz so I didn't know him or his friends, but this is one of those rare situations where a lot of us are genuine in mourning about someone we didn't know personally.

There is doubting the impact he had on those who knew him and those who knew of him.

No problem at all. I just understand that life is so much more than football and knowing people that were directly impacted by it makes it feel so much more real, especially knowing the quality of the person tragically lost.

You've lived a good life when people who have never met you feel like they've been kicked in the gut at your passing. Such a wonderful young man by all accounts.

Twenty three is so young and too young to pass. The only thing positive I can say is if God told you had twenty three years to live your life and that was all then Phillip Lutzenkirchen definitely did it right. May he rest in peace.

So sad. He was the true definition of a role model, gave it his all on and off the field while doing it the right way and caring for others. The world could use a lot more people like him. This should be a reminder to always wear a seatbelt seriously.

RIP PL

So sorry to hear. We give each other a lot of shite on here but I am truly sorry for the loss to all of the Auburn faithful, his family, and his friends.

Exactly. I truly feel like I've lost a family member and I never met him. I followed him since hs as we graduated the same year and I went to watch him twice living in Cobb. Loved the way he played the game, hard nosed and gave it his all EVERY play. The tears were streaming when I read the article that had all the tweets. Such a sad sad sad situation.

I remember one of his first games on TV and they kept talking about the length of his last name and I enjoyed watching him as the years went on.

It's a very sad day and thoughts and prayers are with his parents and his sister and extended family and friends.

I know people have said it over and over but this news was like a bunch in the gut.

I admired Philip and always appreciated how he carried himself on and off the field. Just from following him on twitter he seemed to be a consistent and compassionate person. Life is short and fragile. As a father, I can't imagine what his family is going through. My prayers go out to them.

Amen.

As cliche' as this is, the world changes with kids and you never see it the same again and I am just very heartbroken for anyone who loses a child.

Condolences to the Auburn family. Read the Penter article and it seems like he was an outstanding young man.
