On top of being a good football player he is the epitome of the often used cliche, "he was even a better person". Never is that saying more appropriate than with him. He was genuinely respected and liked by all from friends, fellow students who just casually knew him, teachers/administrators. Everyone. He really was one of the most well rounded people I've come across.

Lutzie and Mason were best friends. Tweeted back and forth regularly. Phillip had a lot of friends in Athens Georgia.

Such a tragedy. I hate hearing this kind of news. Lutzenkirchen was a great player and key contributor for his entire career at Auburn. I wish my condolences to the Auburn fan base and to the Lutzenkirchen family. 23 years old... way too young. RIP

SEATBELTS are law for a reason. Another damn sad tragedy that was completely avoidable. Seen this way too much in my 21 yrs as a paramedic/trauma nurse. Prayers.

Praying for the families and friends of all those affected by this tragic situation. Very few players that I have ever respected more in all of college football. RIP.

I knew the guy personally, church and had a class with him years ago. Such a good person, a good Christian, a volunteer, brother and son. Forever 43.

We see these players come through our schools and see them larger than life.. They become like one of your own family. Times like this we need to remember they are just kids and when a kid goes too soon it is a true tragedy. Sad day for the families of all involved and a sad day for their "adopted" families at Auburn and Georgia. Bless their families with prayers in this toughest of times.

Has it been determined who had seatbelts on, who was sitting in what seat, and if alcohol and high speed were involved?

Wow...this is hard to believe. Always had mad respect for him as a player. Sorry Aubbies...that's rough

Only person wearing a seatbelt was the kid in the front right seat and he survived.
