We both play the same songs in pre-games (Tiger Rag) but in different order.

Auburn after Fight Song:

LSU before Fight Song:

Clemson is the only other Rival in this conversation, but they stole the song from Auburn in 1897.

Which combo wins: Auburn or LSU?

I kind of agree, but I don't like LSU's actual Fight Song (boring).

The Combo is just not there, and the LSU Tiger Rag just loses it's power musically after the first minute or two.

I like both. I think Auburn has the better fight song overall, but LSU has the greatest first 4 notes of any fight song in the country. And Tiger Rag is just an awesome song no matter who is playing it, including Clemson.

A PBS special that aired back in the 1980's said that the LSU pre-game version was like "the Louisiana version of Deutschland Uber Alles."

I could be at a funeral in a library, but if I hear those 4 notes, I'm screaming.

Says the man from a school without an original fight song. You would think with the music scene in Athens, someone could write y'all a decent fight song.

Auburn’s because it has a faster beat. LSU’s beginning sounds like a slow hold that tiger.

Clemson’s fight song sounds like it belongs in a circus.

If we're only comparing the songs you have linked, plus the one from Clemson, then it's LSU and it's not even close. Auburn and Clemson sound like a funeral by comparison.

Both Auburn's and LSU's Fight Songs and other songs in general are pretty cool.

LSU not only plays its current Fight Song ("Hey Fightin' Tigers" - with music from the Broadway play "Wildcat" and the song "Hey Look Me Over" - 1958), but it also plays its previous Fight Songs "Fight For LSU" and "Touchdown For LSU" before each game, along with the iconic "Hold That Tiger" Four Corners Salute Pregame in Tiger Rag. Both previous fight songs were written by New Orleans bandleader Castro Carrazo and Governor Huey Long....

LSU borrowed Tiger Rag from Jazz musicians in the New Orleans French Quarter who played it around the turn of the century...
