Not true either. The trees themselves really weren't rolled until the late 80s/early 90s. The most bonafide story I have heard is that back in the 40s and 50s, well before games were on tv and even before there was a travelling radio call of the game...

So, aubie great Terry Henley is a liar?

I'm a Bama alum who was working at Auburn's Graduate School (Hargis Hall, within sight of Toomer's Corner) when Coach Bryant passed away, and I never saw or heard anything about the trees being rolled.
I have friends, both aubie grads (husband and wife) that met and married while in school at auburn. The Misses worked at Toomers during that time, mid '50's I think. She and her husband were visiting auburn the weekend of Coach Bryant's passing and she said the Toomers oaks were indeed rolled on that day and that classless act sickened her. BTW, she does not know Bagdad Bob.

I dont give a frick how old she is, it has been proven numerous times, it did not happen. And you seem to be hung up on ole terry's quote as well. I know its hard to grasp but all those statements could be true without his story being a lie. But one day you will step out of that delusional fog.
Well, probably not
ETA, 7 post about Auburn's trees in a short period as well.
You sir are king of the Updyke's

Can we just ban you forever? You are exactly the kind of trash that should not exist or post anywhere outside of an Alabama message board.
Period.
Period.

More than a year later on Dec. 2, 1972, Tigers fans swarmed the spot that connects Auburn's campus to downtown to celebrate a dramatic upset of rival Alabama that included two punt returns for touchdowns. Perhaps that's the genesis of the tissue tradition.
"Alabama was ranked No. 2 in the nation at the time and all week long (Auburn running back) Terry Henley went around saying, `We're going to beat the No. 2 out of Alabama," recalls Housel. "And you came back from Birmingham after having beaten the No. 2 team in the nation 17-16, there was toilet paper all over that corner.
"In my mind, in my memory, that is when it morphed into what it is today. And with every great victory, it has grown more and more."
Dear Bob, Did ole' Terry just misremember?

Here, let me help you out since you seem too dense to grasp a certain word in each quote.

I can read quite well. Now cognitive thoughts, comprehension, and reasoning are things you should give a try. I realize its hard to understand and grasp, but your thoughts, if we can really call them that, on the subject, have a slight flaw.

It's sad to see a great tradition die because of a single fricktard.
It's also sad that normal Bama fans will forever have Harvey Updyke associated with them.
Really shameful.

Rolling Toomer's Corner is a really fun and family friendly tradition. Both of my parents did it when they were students at Auburn in the 1970's and we rolled the corner together when I was a kid in the 1980's and then a student at Auburn in the 1990's.
One hateful piece of human garbage isn't going to kill the tradition. I'm glad to see the way the Auburn fans have responded and I am looking forward to seeing the newly renovated Toomer's Corner in the near future.
War Eagle!!

this. fricking stupid. Just plant some younger oaks, let them grow, and continue your dumbass tradition.
And forfeit all that currency? Auburn thrives on this shite.
Updyke is a douche and I wish he hadn't done it. Like an earlier poster said, full size trees could be transplanted if that's what they really wanted.
