yep... no good. It'll give Blackson a bunch of reps opposite whitaker... and sigler may be better than all of them and he's gonna play the 3.... and jabrian niles will probably see more reps there.

I'm not as concerned about the DT position in terms of reps. They are much better technique wise now than last year, but the biggest improvement came from the weight room for these guys.

I'd like for Wright to get back healthy, him and Carter in the depth chart and get some other quality depth the DL will be very good this year and has the potential to be at or among the best in the SEC next year.

Interesting note, Ryan Smith seemed to be going through some OLB drills at the beginning of practice.

Sounds to me like BVG is just moving guys around to see what they can do. Smith is going to be a career backup at S, imo. Might as well try him somewhere else for a bit to see how he does.

So now who are they going to put in when they have to pull D. McNeal for screwing up?

Sounds more like a certain package where we are looking to put a little more speed at LB, but don't want to go full nickel.

Smith is a good player, so I'm not surprised by this at all.

I don't like the sound of this...

I understand that Travante Stallworth is an older and more experienced guy, but he completely disappeared last season after the Utah State game. He lost a lot of his speed when he tore his ACL and I think Sammie Coates, Trovon Reed, Quan Bray, and Jaylon Denson all bring more to the table. And WTF has DeAngelo Benton done his entire career? Nothing. I hope that's changed, but I'm still skeptical on it. I'm hoping they're only up so high on the Spring "Depth Chart" because of leadership and experience. It is Spring, after all.

Ryan Smith wasn't practicing at and won't be playing linebacker. Thigpen said as much in interviews today.

What hurts Stallworth is his perimeter blocking.

Did someone say blocking?

Can this guy still play?

True, and he's nothing more than an average SEC WR at this point. Quan Bray showed flashes at the end of the season and I'd much prefer him in front of Stallworth, unless Loeffler has him at a slot receiver position with Trovon Reed...

Can't wait to see what JaQuay Williams and RiCardo Louis can do.

As of now, Loeffler has Benton behind Stallworth (Benton's running first team sometimes), Coates behind Blake, and Bray/Reed at the other WR spot.

Maybe this is the year Bemton finally shows up?

I'd hope so, and I'd also rather have Benton out there over Stallworth...

In the new defense, there will be no traditional nose tackle. Both defensive tackles will play the same role, using a 3-technique and shade.

I founf this very interesting. Big change from the way we have played D for the last 10 years or so. My guess is that this just disguises better who is the actual NT (Cannot allow the C toi get the the Mike unblocked)

Not just him, Reed and Bray, too...they're small.

People seem to forget that Kodi was 6'2" 215 and T-Zac was 6'1" 220 and Darvin was 6'3" 190....DB's couldn't get off their blocks

That's why we didn't break a lot off long runs downfield last year
