Wild shite seems to happen with LSU as well.

Was Harsin the problem? Maybe the problem is Auburn.
both can be true. Current state however was the hiring of Harsin who did not recruit, etc. Now we have a Freeze who I will certainly give more time to.
We went after Billy Napier (Terrible), really really wanted Lane (Stayed at Ole Miss because his Daughter was a student there). Some wanted Primetime ((What a disaster). Only great hire in the SEC has been Kirby.

I've been an AU fan since Bo Jackson was a sophomore and I started liking football around age 9-10. So, apparently AU was worse from 1973-1981, but I don't recall those days. In my football watching lifetime, this is the worst stretch I've ever seen. You could always count on AU to have a great season sandwiched between a couple of terrible/headscratching seasons. But there are none of those on the horizon. I think it's truly been years since I've seen AU actually look prepared and not get outcoached. The problem runs deep, and I don't think Freeze is the answer. The NMSU, Maryland, and now Cal games are inexcusable. Gus was awful and it was his time to go, but even he probably wins those 3. I honestly think just being competitive and not looking absolutely lost would be a step up.

If you had honest decent refs Auburn would be more 15-32
They simply stole the Ole Miss and Arkansas games I think in 2020 because of dirty refs.

This.
Posted this in another thread...
JHS is really only difficult for Alabama, which tells you a lot about the program and it’s fan base. If AU treated every game like Bama or even at least most games where would the program be historically?

15-26 vs P4/5 opponents
2-17 vs teams finishing in Top 25 (both wins by Harsin in 2021 in back to back weeks @ Arkansas, vs Ole Miss)
8-11 vs P4/5 teams at home (also loss to New Mexico State)
0-8 vs Alabama/Georgia
Yeah, as an Auburn fan it has felt like shite.... but when you see the actual numbers, you realize how bad it has been.
Last weekend hurt. Most of us fans felt we may be taking a step forward this year. Saturday punched us in the nuts.

Auburn has more problems than the Ukrainian's.

I don't know man. There has been some crazy shite happen there over the years that doesn't involve just Bama. LSU has had some bad bounces that could have gone either way. Arkansas has had a couple. Mizzou a few years ago just drops the ball on his way to win the game out the back of the endzone. Utah St. had the game won and punted the ball basically backwards and AU took over to win that game in 2011. Didn't something crazy happen in the Jax State game a few years ago too? Or was it Bowling Green?
I'm not saying all that to say AU is lucky, because in the end you kind of make your own luck and AU has done a fantastic job of capitalizing on other teams mistakes or bad bounces.

If you put the won - loss on paper it looks pretty bad. I didn’t realize Auburn was that shitty.
The problem started with Bobby Lauder ( spelling). And the Board of trustees may still be the problem. With paying players and them transferring I have no idea what to do.

It's really not that hard to figure this out, folks.
There are 2 schools in Alabama.
There is 1 school in Georgia.
FSU is close enough to South Georgia...
They all fight over a small amount of recruits that are also being recruiting nationally now.
When you can't get recruits, you can't win. When you don't win, you can't recruit. If you develop talent and can't win, your players transfer. It's a hot mess.
Auburn/ UGA was even up until 20 years ago. It was back and forth. Streaks on both sides, and weird home losses on each side.
UGA got taken to the woodshed by Florida for 20 years. It's all cyclical.
Good news is, Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina, Missouri, Texas A&M, etc... haven't done a damn thing in the past 50 years, so at least we aren't THAT bad yet.

Something is FU about your comparison. 5 AU seasons. 4 Bama seasons. Updyke math I guess. Better stick to flipping burgers.

That's why it says 4+ seasons twinkle toes. Auburn has played a grand total of 2 games in the 5th season, 1 of which was against a FCS team and isn't included in anything but the overall win/loss total. Add to that that teams played 11 games and not 12 games during half of Shula's tenure and, well, the number of games pretty much works out.

The Jordan-Hare Voodoo threads are interesting and some of the comments are witty, but it's also not rooted in reality. When are all of these times that Jordan-Hare voodoo kicked in? Georgia is 20-12 all time in Jordan-Hare, and the only loss in my lifetime that was voodoo-ish was 2013.
The Voodoo aspect is mostly directed at the iron bowl. Even the home games we lost against Saban, et al were wonky or Auburn played way above their level. Every bama fan will tell you they just always looked like a different team in JHS.
The AU-UGA series had a long streak of the away team playing better, kind of like reverse home field advantage. UGA fixed that problem, Auburn didn't.

Even the 2011 game was close at halftime.
It was 24-7 at the half and Auburn had managed only one first down in those first 30 minutes. Their lone touchdown was courtesy of an A.J. McCarron strip sack in the end zone. They finished with just 140 yards of total offense that afternoon.
