Auburn just doesn’t have the national reach Bama has.

Alabama HS coaches don’t like the northwest guy DeBoer.

Would’ve been nice if the defensive captain wouldn’t have called the defense over to the wrong side of the field, touché.

Why go after Alabama players when there’s arguably 3 states they border that have better High School play?

And bama signed two.
Bama & UGA have the luxury to cherry pick, depending on the instate class that year. It’s also why, in years past, Auburn would play them so tough. Plenty of AL or GA kids on their roster felt overlooked and wanted to prove that.

Hugh can absolutely land 5*’s most years. But a stud portal QB is his best (only?) hope of surviving next year. And, they ain’t cheap.

Should rename bama to California East

So, does that mean California East still owns Bryant Denny West?

I personally don't care where the talent comes from. I do hope they recruit kids with longevity and are committed to the program for more than 1-2 years, especially when starting or set to start.

But, that's the real challenge in modern CFB

Meh. It's understandable considering the man has cultivated relationships on the west coast and is just now starting to do so here in the Deep South. It's no coincidence that the vast majority of our talent this recruiting class came from out west.

The state also failed to generate as much top tier talent this year as it has in years past.

What school is really Alabama?

I’m not sure but I know an LSU fan will update us on it.

What difference does it make? If they aren’t playing a lot after two years they are leaving anyway, doesn’t matter where they are from.

I noticed that.
Bama can say what they want, but they signed 11 kids from Alabama last year, 8 the year before, 6 in 22', 5 in 21' and 8 in 20'.

Auburn did really well this cycle and it will be interesting to see if that trend continues.

I guess we'll just have to settle for the second best class in the country and state then.

That isn't sustainable. Have to have a core of solid players who are from the state.

I'd love to get 8 5strs from the state of Alabams.

The biggest thing is when you play against predominantly Alabama guys. they play their hearts out.

I like Alabama players. But the best in the nation is what it is.

The best players will transfe, if they want too. Or may take the highest pay for play.

It's not who gets the best from the state. (maybe they want to win) It;s who gets the best in the country. (maybe they want to win also)

It's why college teams now have GM's. It's crazy.

Correct, so you aren't going to sign 10 Alabama kids just because. Some year there will only be 4-5, some years there will be 8-9.
