By this metric, probably UNA.

Auburn just doesn’t have the national reach Bama has.

I noticed that.
Bama can say what they want, but they signed 11 kids from Alabama last year, 8 the year before, 6 in 22', 5 in 21' and 8 in 20'.

Auburn did really well this cycle and it will be interesting to see if that trend continues.

Transition year with a new staff that recruited areas they had contacts. Already have some good traction in 2025 and 2026. Not too concerned.

Also the class is a hair from being #1 in the country in both overall and per player average, so not gonna complain too much.

Like they signed a better class than Auburn? They can say that.

Not that surprising that a midwest/west coast HC and largely non-SEC roots coaching staff recruited more broadly. Hopefully they build the connections in state and get a few more next year. Definitely cannot live on Alabama in state recruiting alone though. Most years probably only 7-8 in state takes for Alabama with the way they recruit. Won’t get all of those either.

They can say they have the #2 class in year one of a new head coach.

I’ll judge Deboer on in-state recruiting in the next two cycles. Regardless it really doesn’t matter with NIL and portal decisions now. As long as the talent level is good and you meet needs, I don’t care where they come from.

This started happening with Saban and even before. Najee Harris, Bryce Young and others from California. Derrick Henry, Amari Cooper and many others from Florida. Jalen Hurts, Milroe and others from Texas.

Hell, Joe Namath was a Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania recruit for Bryant in 1961.

Bama is NATIONWIDE.

Also, the world was convinced that DeBoer and Co. would struggle to even sign a top 10/15 class this year. They showed up and signed a class that looks exactly like every other class we've signed for the last decade.

I don't care if all of them are from Alaska. That's impressive.

Signs number 8 class good for like 4/5 in sec but a good class. First thing he does is look up Alabama class and anything he can spin negatively. Checks out. LSU fan.

The in-state thing is definitely something that under the current circumstances is understandable, but it is not something that needs to become a yearly thing. That isn't sustainable. Have to have a core of solid players who are from the state.

who mentioned anything negative? It’s just an observation. At least you aren’t robbing Louisiana anymore
