I lived in Auburn for five and a half years. I'm calling total fricking bullshite on this. This isn't the time or place for shite like this.

First of All opelika is not auburn. Second of all, for the most part auburn is as safe as any place in the us. I wouldn't be scared to carry a sack of money in downtown auburn at four in the morning and have done numerous times when I ran the bar. As far burglaries, they happen anywhere and everywhere. In my line of work I see crime in any city USA, every day.

Read on a scout board that Phillips was shot after he jumped on 1 gunmen. A second gunmen shot him. fricking coward bastards, Phillips was a hero.
That correlates with what Watts was saying, said Phillips was trying to break it up and ended up getting shot.
He most likely saved a few lives and serious injuries to others with that move. Unfortunately, it cost him his own. That's textbook bravery, and he definitely displayed it. It's probably not as black and white as that, but he'll go down as a hero barring some bombshell news.

I am a firm believer in carry laws, but it is a bunch of pansies like this that ruin our society and the rights we hold. Too many people get their feelings hurt and show someone who's boss.
I'd be willing to bet a substantial amount of money that they weren't legally carrying. Laws don't/can't prevent dumbasses from doing things like this, they can only punish them afterwards.

The discussion branches out in many directions, including how kids should be raised. Was just replying to a comment. The overwhelming majority of people have posted how tragic this is, including myself.

Heard the same about Ed Christian more or less.
Hopefully eye-witness testimony will back this up and their families can at least be comforted in one respect... that their kids were trying to do the right thing.

It really is sickening that grown men can't resolve these types of conflicts without resorting to this type of violence. Hope what you guys are saying about DaDa and Ed is accurate, because I knew Ed decently well, and he was always a great guy. One of the nicest people I have ever met.

If you think Opelika is bad I'll give you a free tour of Albany Georgia. I carry two weapons in my truck and about to start carrying a 380 on my ankle. Opelika has poor areas, but is nowhere near what I would consider rough.
