Of all the reasons to hate Auburn - and they are legion - this writer decides that the most salient one of all is that their coach is a conservative, and more than that, that being a conservative is what makes him a terrible person? Talk about a swing and a miss! Auburn should be hated because they are Auburn, and Pearl is a terrible person because he is affiliated with that school and fanbase. It's almost like he looked at Auburn and felt an instinctive loathing for them, as anyone would, but as a Yankee and a media member he could not understand why he felt what he felt and so tried to interpret it through the lens of progressive politics, as he does everything in his life.
