I am curious how Malzhan typically attacks this type of defense

A shite ton of off tackle.

I worry about Whitlow to be honest. He looks like a tank. Scott in the middle is a tank
He doesn’t run as big as he is. He’s a guy that likes to play more so elusive and make a guy miss.

Shaun Shivers runs with more reckless abandon than Boobie Whitlow.

Troy Dye is a first round or 2nd round talent, btw.

After looking at this, the boundary side of the defense is the least proven.

Gus will go deep and go deep often. Nix has a stronger arm than Stidham and the deep ball will allow AU to take advantage of their outside speed. He did that with Stidham in 2017 because of Johnson, but had problems with that early in the 18 season due to the OL. In 2017 it opened up the intermediate routes and the running game

I trust your evaluation on your team and I haven't put in the work. That being said, I was more commenting on how light that side is. Spencer Nigh is gonna eat.

Gus is gonna run them sideline to sideline all first half....midway thru the 3rd he’ll start coming downhill on them when he knows they’re tired.

This is one of the better threads I have seen on the rant. Hard not to put out of conference posters in the "troll" basket, but this has been an excellent exchange.

I got to talk to quite a few Oregon fans in Arizona and found them friendly and football savvy. I also would like a home and home but doubt it will happen.

Bisonduck fits in and I bet he eats grits and says, "yall"

The only question for me for Oregon is their defense, and that they have been unable to win away from home recently.

Funny enough for Duck fans, the only questions we have about Oregon is their offense and that they have been unable to win away from home.

It sounds crazy, but the defense is far more reliable than the offense.

Come join the DL thread. I can see why they’re trying to wrap their heads around the logic. They look mediocre in the boxscore.

I can appreciate this type of assessment. My only concern for Oregon is the Safety/Corner positions. I don't follow Oregon and maybe those positions aren't an issue for you guys, but they seem awkwardly lightweight against any real rushing attack.

And that's Auburn's bread and butter under Gus mostly. Disguised rushing. Whether or not they have the QB to handle it is a different question. Should be a great game.
