Anyone who watched the game last night noticed a marked difference between last year and last night. Will that translate as we get to tougher competition? We don’t know that yet. However, last night’s performance left a lot of Auburn fans optimistic, myself included.

Glad to see Auburn is on your mind.
Congrats on the win versus Miami.

Auburn is for REAL . . .
But, just wanted to mention . . .
and AU did..
it is because of the new coach, I expect Harsins teams will always look good and play well - he's a man.
Besides all the "journalists" taking part in the usual Auburn bad mouthing to satisfy the REC, there is a LOT of experienced and talented players sprinkled throughout that team.
You may beat them, but you're going to have to bring your lunch..
ask bammer who have to visit that new coach in a place where they have plenty of L's against a team who has beaten them more than any other (note who is starting this thread also)
Bring it. Auburn sure will.

However, this is the correct take:

No way Gus has Auburn as prepared and crisp as they were yesterday, even against Akron.
We looked nothing like your multiple “Harsin is a shitty HC and underacheived bigtime at Boise” posts led me to believe.
If your coach was anything other than vanilla in that game yesterday, then he is dumb. Gus was smart enough not to show his cards in scrub games, although it did almost bite him in the arse.

Have a look at how Harsins practices are run sometime. I credit that and his leadership

It was no accident fans were wearing white in the stands this week. Auburn was preparing for the white-out at PSU, getting the players used to a crowd again, etc. And it really Is the first test. Pretty sure it's just part of the process.

JMO but I didn't see anything from PSU that AU couldn't deal with. The trip should be assume.

I'll be the first to admit that.

I watched State's game, too, and they showed some grit. They'll certainly be more battle tested when they host Auburn. I'm just happy we looked pretty disciplined yesterday and were prepared.

So, that’s 1 win in their last 23 games. The win? Against winless Bowling Green.
According to Tennessee fans, Bowling Green is a force to be reckoned with.

Lots of people interested in Akron’s history today. If they weren’t worried they wouldn’t invest the thought in it.

Auburn played who was on their schedule and performed as they should.
What’s the problem?
Oh yeah, you posted.

The game already happened.
I didn't watch it, so it may have been vanilla. But from what Auburn fans are saying - it wasn't.
Against an opponent like that, you don't show your hand, you play extremely vanilla and stick to the basics. Your overall talent should be more than enough to handle the game. Otherwise you are just giving your future opponents tape.
Maybe if things aren't going well you would break out some plays. But when you are winning the entire game with ease, it should be vanilla plays and getting playing time for as many players as possible.
Just basic coaching common sense really, I certainly didn't invent it.
