This may have been answered before, but I've never been able to figure out why he was hired in the first place. Loser at Iowa State? HIRE THAT MAN. What?

I don't want that fat piece of shite Jay Jacobs anywhere near another coaching search. This son of a bitch actually has the balls to say this about what his standards of a coaching candidate must look like.

Those benchmarks are a track record as a proven winner

Seriously Jay I hope you choke on Pat Dye's dick and die.

Good point. Then you should have fired the AD months ago and the President hired someone. Not some idiotic committee.

I guess they were only "All In" for the 2010 season.

You are not alone. Personally, I think he did a great sales job on Jay Jacobs who bought it. Jay Jacobs was basically a 1 man search committee at the time and made the decision.

Hire Petrino? You sure you want to get rid of the only half decent looking things at the barn ie the cheerleaders? You'll have to do that to keep Petrino's "head" in the football game!

I don't think this letter would have been released if they were gonna fire Jacobs.

I totally disapprove of this message. Every Auburn fan, and Alabama too, love him.

His assz should have gone along with Cheezits, Jacobs. That "fambly" shite has to be the most nauseating crap I've heard in CF except for ND's claim that they are god's gift to college football

Posted by Grievous Angel quote: . I am honored that Mac Crawford, Bo Jackson and Pat Sullivan have agreed to join our efforts to find the best coach possible for our student-athletes, the students of Auburn University and the Auburn Family. You know, I know eventually AU will take objections from Bama fans about Petrino as being "afraid" of him. He'd coach some good ball down there, and if we had our druthers we'd like you to keep Chizik from a football standpoint. Yes, he'd win some ballgames. And he would be a big upgrade. We aren't "afraid". He didn't beat Saban at all, and that was when he didn't even have to recruit against him. That's not the point. The point is it will look pathetic and--as hard as it is to say--we will be embarrassed for you. Surely there's a winner out there without so much baggage. Make a run at the Vandy coach. Or Patterson. Or the Boise guy. Jesus H Christ have some dignity.

Dude, step away from the keyboard. You're embarrassing yourself and your fan base. I hate Petrino as much as the next guy, but pleading with a bunch of Auburn fans (who obviously have no say in the matter) to not hire him makes you look like a scared little bitch. You're a fan of an elite team. Act like one.

You're confusing me with an LSU fan. Petrino beat LSU, not Alabama.

He'd be in a worse position at Auburn, playing second fiddle.

Hiring Petrino will make everyone look bad.

I'm just pointing out the obvious--Petrino is a desperation move and flies in the face Auburn says they are about.
