I wonder if contracts are written to not pay these pricks in situations like this.
Or are they given it all up front?

I fear that was the Hugh Freeze culture at play.
I think most fans support coaches when they do the tough thing that loses talent if it comes out an individual doesn't seem to be part of the team.
Hell I even remember Alabama fans complimenting the Tenn coach when he told his star QB to get gone.
I think most fans agree that perceived entitlement is a very bad look.

I think there should be absolute transparency when a player is dismissed now that other folks' money goes to their pocket.
I think the only people that care at this point are the people putting money into NIL
And I think they should be embarrassed to admit that they are putting money into NIL.

Honestly...yes. If it was for stealing, death threats, or something dangerous, I would want to know. Wouldn't you?

I agree but we both know that's not how it works.
I hope the guy grows from this.

This right here.
He was one of the transfers that Hugh brought in. He played his arse off on the field last season to the point where he was made a priority to pay and keep on the defense. He just hasn't adapted to the new program and sounded like an entitled child because he wasn't given the leeway to do whatever he wanted. If you don't get with the new program, you gotta go. He knew that and made his choices.

A nuisance in the locker room, refusal to follow simple team rules, slacking in practice causing teammates to suffer the consequences, bickering & fighting with teammates is serious when a new coach is establishing rules and standards.
I’m not saying I disagree.
The OP said “no matter how serious”.
There is still a difference between being locker room cancer vs doing something illegal etc.

Sounds kinda similar to how James Pierce was at UT.
