2014 Georgia was inconsistent, but they were really good when they were on their game

That was the other one I was thinking about. We had a pretty good season and the wheels fell off at the end of the A&M game and we only scored 7 against you guys I believe. Not that you were bad (you weren't), but our offense had been humming until the A&M game.

Georgia, but I've never lived anywhere in Alabama other than Auburn, so my perception is skewed.

Also, Alabama has been so dominant that they've almost got this corporate feel to the program and it just doesn't prompt the raw emotional reaction it once did. That's a nice way of saying I'm dulled to their success.

Alabama's fan base is heavily white trash, which is kind of novel and fun. Georgia's fan base is heavily middle class fancy suburban, which can be more annoying than the trailer trash. Lynette the enormous gas station clerk with a 3 pack a day smoker's cough shite talking Auburn vs. Greg the UGA fan with oakleys and a goatee barking at you in a Chili's parking lot

Citizens of Lanett can't find enough scratch to live in West Point?

Funny Valley has been brought into the mix. My family is from Valley and the surrounding environs....my grandfather was arrested twice in a one year period for moonshining in the 1940s and the second time was facing either 10 years in the chain gang or moving out of the state. He chose the latter, moved 60 miles to the north and east of the Valley, and that branch of the family has grown and thrived while the bunch left in the Valley all went from being lint heads (I can call them that being a progeny of lint heads) to severe unemployment and poverty to being saved by the Koreans from KIA with $12 an hour jobs.

Meanwhile my bootlegging grandfather got a union job with US steel in Atlanta, owned 2 nightclubs, a used car lot and an auto auction. More to the point he raised 2 kids who were the first in the family to receive a high school diploma. One of those kids, my Aunt, raised two sons, one who became and electrical engineer and is a Southern Company executive, the other is a tenured professor at Oglethorpe University, and my father who made a good living as a union electrician, retired at 62 with an income that is about 75% of what he made working his entire life, who raised 3 kids, one a CPA who owns her own firm, Another who owns a small business with about 30 employees and a third who is an electrical engineer who works for himself and has done so all over the world. Meanwhile our family in the Valley are lucky to have KIA and are happy to sell their lives to their employer as they have since we were sharecropping in the valley. Our grandfathers getting arrested for bootlegging saved several generations from living in a mill town and all that that implies...meanwhile folks in Lanette and Shawmut and Hughely are still praying for a job at KIA....or worse.

Thank yeeeeeew! (I think) At leas I am not trash.

The thing is, most fans are really good and nice people in real life. I have several good friends who are Auburn fans and some Florida fans and GT fans. All are great people.

The problem comes when you run into an anonymous message board fan that thinks shock and trolling are cool.

Then you run into some nondescript drunk fan that makes an idiot out of himself and that cements bad feelings toward a fan base.

The strange think I have noticed on here is I probably get along with more Auburn fans on here than any other fan base. I like and respect them. Then on the other hand I probably argue and get aggravated by more Auburn fans on here than any other fan base outside of Florida fans. You just can't let the actions and words of a few fans color your opinion of an entire fan base....but it is very easy to do.

Just as long as we've come to the understanding that outside of Metro Atlanta basically everything in both states is the same.

And I say that as a veteran of both Alabama, Atlanta and every corner of the state of Georgia.

It's wild, isn't it?

Also, crazy talk here, but the school that a person went to or chose to root for at age 4 generally doesn't define their personality or general communication pattern.

Auburn has 2 NC, UGA 1...

LINK-https://www.ncaa.com/history/football/fbs

There are links that show UGA with 1942, but then Auburn is given credit for additional NC

I've already got mine down in the mines. Looking forward to seeing them at Christmas, though.

I've grown up in Georgia since I was about 7. I hate Bama, but I can say I definitely hate Georgia more. Especially, over the last few years it's just getting nastier between our fambases. It's not even fun anymore, it's pure hate with them.

This is a perfect example of the collapse of the iron bowl.

You readily accept the decline in fanbase passion and retort with an emotionless rehash about some team who isnt supposed to be your rival.

No it doesn't....but when you come on here you would definitely get the opposite impression.

Just spitballing here. You are a passionate Auburn fan who talks about Auburn all the time, and probably in 2010 and 2013 you did more talking than normal. (As anyone would do) Then, when Georgia beats Auburn they remember and give you all kinds of crap.

Typically thta is the way it goes.

For example, I was in a car pool a few years ago with GT fans. I was very careful to be respectful of GT.
Then one day one of them said that Georgia should play nothing but teams like Notre Dame, Clemson with no lower tier schools. I asked him if he thought GT should do the same and he said no.

When GT beats Georgia 9as rare as it has been lately) they rub it in everybody elses faces. (In fairness, I'm sure some Georgia fans do the same to them) But sometimes it isn't the number of times one team beats another, it is all the talk after a win or loss by the rival team.

Georgia doesn't like Auburn because they won in 2010 and hang that over our head, and Auburn doesn't like Georgia because we talk about how often we beat Auburn. It's the yapping back and forth.
