NCAA doesn’t crown the NC in football.

Are you responding to me?

You do know you have 8 SECC's, correct?

God. What a lame rivalry the two of you have become.

Yea...you are so right.

While I'll concede the Iron Bowl pales in relation to that yearly nationally anticipated Georgia Tech-UGA game. we've actually had a couple of somewhat interesting games in the last decade.

And a few National Championships.....

Not bad for a "lame rivalry".

Auburn fans ... you guys are an odd bunch ... who do you hate more, Georgia or Alabama?

In the 2017 NC I pulled for Alabama. Auburn can't afford for UGA to have a more recent national championship than them if they want to stay competitive in recruiting. Doing so would drop Auburn to a definitive #4 for that area. Alabama has already achieved the highest standard of success and player development so it doesn't matter if they add another trophy to their case. As for fans, I grew up in Jacksonville so I had the opportunity to run into a lot more obnoxious Georgia fans because of the chance of exposure. At least with Alabama, their behavior is slightly more justified because they're able to reach the highest position in the land. Georgia fans maintain that same ego but can only mirror consistent disappointment.

Hmmmm....I didn't know that. I had always heard Clemson bought it for him. Just goes to show that you can't always depend on things you hear.

And yet your official athletics web site only claims two. Imagine. banners are now the official benchmark. And lets not forget the banners the students hang for that 2017 SEC West Championship.

This is what the Auburn fan posted right after you:

So your own fans admit to pulling for Bama
to win a NC? Yep,pretty damn lame.

Don't think you'd ever catch Michigan fans
ever pulling for Ohio State to win a NC or UGA fans pulling for GT .

Sorry,AU fans never woulda pulled for Bama 20 years ago to win a NC...very strange.

Exactly. Bama has won 5 in the last 20. We are numb to it at this point.

No, they don't. but they certainly do recognize them, do they not?

I mean your school claims two but your fans want to claim 9? I guess it si just as legit if Georgia fans pick arbitrary years to claim?

I have said many times that Auburn and Georgia football are almost mirror images of each other. It wasn't me making fun of Auburn's accomplishments and saying Georgia's trophy case was superior to Auburn's. It was an Auburn fan trying to say that about Auburn being so superior. I am merely pointing out that he was wrong.

I would disagree. Auburn has their own strong history and can stand on their own. Way too much emphasis is put on the "latest" results. But, I do get your concern. I just think Auburn will always recruit at a high level and get their share of players.

A lot of Georgia fans still think of GT as our main rival. I don't, personally. It just hasn't been close lately. I do think of Florida as #1 and Auburn as #2 then GT at #3. The thing I think for most Auburn and Georgia fans is that we are so close to each other that we come in contact with each other, so disagreements and trolling happens more often. That causes more friction between the fan bases.

There is absolutely no doubt that the Iron Bowl has been very competitive lately. It amazes me how Auburn beats Alabama fairly often (relatively speaking) and we can't seem to get over the hump.

This times 10000.

In a conference where college football means more, the iron bowl is a shell of what it used to be. No passion. No hate. Essentially, a fake rivalry. Or as the previous bama poster put it, civil. How different is that from Auburn vs A&M?

Based upon that, I'd be embarrassed if Auburn fans didnt pick UGA.

That's asinine. We are the only team in the SEC that can actually beat Alabama on a semi-regular basis.

Heard that rumor as well but their offer was supposedly cash (lots of it) if he signed.

I also heard it was an interest only loan to Herchel's folks and paid off when he signed his deal with the Generals.

UGA also gave his sister a full ride in track the year before.I believe it was the first track scholarship offered to a female at UGA.

Crazy isn't it? I mean, Auburn is usually very good, but it seems nobody can touch Alabama consistently except Auburn. The way of rivalries, I guess.

In my circle, there is more outright hate for Georgia. Their fans are the worst at home or on the road. Just loud, obnoxious, douchebags. And they cry about anything and everything because they think they're entitled to something for whatever reason.

The Bama rivalry hasn't been really heated for a while. It was in 2010 and right after with Updyke's shenanigans and the Cam hate. But most Bama fans I know are just sad really. So many sidewalks who live and die with the fricking football team.

ETA: This is as of this moment. It wouldn't take much, at all, for my hatred of Bama to come to the surface.
