State already admitted they broke the rules and would be in trouble for sure out of the 2.
I hate constantly re-hashing this, but what rules do you think State broke in the Cam case? (Here's a hint:you're wrong).

They knew money had been asked for him. The coaching staff knew money had been asked for him..................yet State continued to recruit him. That is a violation.
ETA the only documented case of money being asked for Cam was by your former player for Cam to sign with State.
ETA to the ETA Joe Schad's only "source" in that entire story was Mullen's wife.

Can you refresh my memory on what exactly it was that State did illegally in the sCam kNewton case?
I’ll need links too.

It's a gullible Auburn fan that ACTUALLY believes Cam Newton's Dad would shop Cam to one team but not another.
Cash sought for Cam Newton
"Former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond told ESPN.com a teammate of Bond's at Mississippi State in the early 1980s contacted him soon after Newton's official visit to Mississippi State during the Ole Miss game in December, and said he was representing Newton.
He said it would take some cash to get Cam.
Bond said the former teammate told him other schools had already offered $200,000, but since Newton really liked Mississippi State and had a relationship with head coach Dan Mullen dating to when both were at Florida, Mississippi State could get him for $180,000.
On Dec. 31, 2009, Newton publicly committed to Auburn"

No it isn’t. As long as State notified the NCAA of issue they have every right to continue recruiting him. If Cam had committed then we would have had to make him ineligible until the matter was resolved.

Cam's Dad didn't shop him. The former State player went to Cecil and said "I think I can get money for you if Cam goes to State". Cecil said "go for it". State and Auburn were not the only two schools recruiting him. Every other coach said nobody asked for money for Cam.

They didn't notify anybody. They continued to recruit Cam. Cam signed with Auburn in Dec.. State went to the SEC office in Febr..

State couldn't come up with enough booster cash to make the deal, fact.

The FEDS got involved. Ask the basketball schools if they have a clue what they are doing. You just don't hide money from them when they start looking.

Isn’t your Compliance Director a former FBI chief?

Yes, Mississippi State is exceptionally poor

So you think he runs the FEDS?
(he also worked for the NCAA. so I guess that makes us good with them too)

No. Not at all. But he knows their abilities. Same for NCAA. You should be commended for hiring someone who knows where to hide shite from 2 separate entities.

I'd like to take this moment to again...thank Cam Newton.

They weren't required to report it immediately. It wasn't even clear a violation had occurred, since all he did was ask for money. State was fine in waiting until recruiting was over to report it.

State continued to recruit, then it wasn’t until immediately after signing did they report to the NCAA. Then when asked for the info, they took seven months to send anything and even then wasn’t all inclusive, until cam became a star player, then Mullen/urbz got arse hurt and decided to really say what happened with Kenny and bond. State disassociated with boosters as a result.
