Besides a stray 2010 outlier, Auburn has been unsuccessful at turning victories over Alabama into National Championships. Further proof was last year when Auburn won a meaningless SEC west title and then proved it was a fluke against Georgia and UCF.

What gives Auburn? Why are you unable to have the killer instinct?

Youll never be a great program till you do.

Beating two #1 ranked teams in a row was a fluke?

How many SEC or NC does your school have?. Auburn and Alabama have combined for the last 5 NC.

Troll aside, Auburn has kept Alabama from winning three or four other national championships.

Punt Bama Punt, First Iron Bowl in JH, and Kick Six off the top of my head. Pretty historically important IYAM

Punt Bama Punt was in 1972 - at AU game time Bama was a distant second to USC who remained undefeated. 1989 Bama was number two - Miami beat them in the bowl and won the NC. That Bama was a bit of a paper tiger. IMO, AU was the better team, easily physically superior. Bama did a lot with less, AU was good but was a bit underachieving.

2013 is the only AU win that kept Bama from possibly winning a NC.

The only two games ever played between the two with both having unbeaten records were 1971 and 1994 (AU had a tie). Bama won them both 31-7 and 21-14.

What does the logo next to his name have anything to do with the content of his post? Terrible logic.

Try to remember you said this, as you and your cronies downvote every post by a Clemson fan.

Meh. We beat bama and went undefeated and or were the national champs in 1983, 1993, 2004, and 2010.

That is pretty solid. We beat bama about every other year for anout the past 30 years and you do realize you are not awarded a national championship for beating them, correct?

You are right - thanks. Actually 2013 was the only year that I can remember. 2010 Bama was already out of it (only year since 2008 that Alabama was out of it at the time of the AU game. Turned out that last year didn't matter.). I corrected my original post.

You need to do a better job of sniffing out a gump when you smell one.

You were not NCs or undefeated in 1983.

You were fortunate that you did not play in the post season in 1993. You would have likely lost in the SECC game and/or the bowl. You had a good team but like Bama's 89 team there were a lot of smoke and mirrors. The only two teams you played with a winning record you barely won at home. IMO, UF would have boat-raced you in the SECC game. Spurrier threw the reg season 3 pt loss at JH away by stupidity.

2004 you were fortunate that you didn't have to play that USC team. They would have almost certainly smoked you but now you at least can play the whatif and sympathy cards.

2010 you were good and deserved to win the NC but you were very fortunate. You had a transcendent player and made good use of him. You won 7 games by one possession, 5 by 3 points or less. Chizik did a great job of navigating all of the off-the-field "clutter".

It's meant a lot in the state of Alabama.

Last Season was an exception;sort of.

Bama definitely wants to avenge Auburn's Iron Bowl win last season.

The Bama nation does not claim Cock Commander. Besides, losing to Auburn created much stress and tension and had us sweating the selection committee. To say it doesn't mean anything is factually incorrect. Bama and Auburn could both be 0-11 and the game would still mean a lot in this state. I want Auburn to enjoy their bragging rights because come November they have a beat down awaiting them as BDS and it will be years before they have them again.
