Another woke jackass that is going to preach to everyone what is right and what is not right. The player carrying the flag doesn't seem to have a problem with it, why should he? STFU and be a sportswriter or go see if they have room for you on the Politics page. Idiot!

It's sad that it is, though. Too much glamorizing the athletes that turn their backs to the flag, kneel fir the anthem, and bitch when they win a 3rd place medal.
Why can't the media instead glamorize those who embrace being American? Embrace what good has literally happened to them? Yet, they will honor those who feel they are a "victim" of "systemic racism", when they can say nothing more legitimate than getting a speeding ticket as a teenager.

About the only complaint I could possibly see about carrying the flag out is if you felt it was more "stunt" and less "patriotic".
Like, for example, if someone had felt Harsin only did it to score favor with the home crowd and convinced his players to do it.
Of course, that's the jaded part of me talking. I prefer to think that it came up organically and someone volunteered to carry the flag out of the tunnel.
That being said, the guy had to know how this would come across (regardless of intent). He's complaining about football players carrying an American flag through a crowd at a rural college in one of the 5 most conservative states in the country.
Then again, maybe he did it for shock value. People complaining means people retweeting and reading and sharing links. Instead of sports shock ("Alabama will lose to Mercer by 3 TDs! You heard it here first!") we get political shock ("Carrying the American flag means you hate black people, women and aliens from Proxima Centauri!").
Some desired result, different path to take there.
