Thinking more and the "butterfly effect". How something so benign can cascade to such different outcomes.
What if they had changed their plans ever so little tonight? Caught a stop light instead of just passing under the light when it was yellow?
What if Auburn had not lost the game so oddly the other night and were still playing in the SEC tournament?
On and on.
So sad.

I said as such on the MSB thread about this... and as a LSU fan I immediately thought about the end of that baseball game the other day

he called a lot of great wins and... not only is it terrible that that play will end up being his final call at Auburn... but what if Auburn hadn't blown that game?

maybe they just played today in Hoover and he and his wife and family aren't in that spot at that time

tragic thought

It’s obviously such a sad situation but to charge a 16 year old with murder for this would be a sad thing in itself.

It's vehicular homicide whether you're 16 or 61.

It's very sad but the kid was driving a 2 ton weapon.

Just learning of this, so disheartening. What a talented fun game caller Bramblett was.

Be strong Aubie fans.

This is so sad. I pray for Rod's family and everyone involved. And my heart goes out to the entire Auburn family.

Just got a break at work and saw this. Man I'm a Gamecock and I'm in tears. Some things transcend sports and this is definitely one of them. So sorry for their kids, the rest of their family, friends and of course the Auburn family as a whole. Y'all are definitely in my thoughts and prayers.

No one has any idea about how the wreck happened. Two children are left without their parents and a 16 yr old is having to cope with killing two people. I couldn't imagine trying to console my child when they were 16 and having to deal with this.

Save the lynch mob justice, it doesn't help anyone right now.

Prayers sent to the Bramblett family and Auburn community. Just an awful week for everyone around Auburn - a local officer was shot and killed on duty during a call last Sunday night and now this.

The Brambletts were rear ended while they were waiting to turn. That's how the accident happened. There were only 2 vehicles involved in the accidentL the 16 y.o. and the Brambletts.

For the accident to be serious enough to end in death, the kid had to have been driving fast enough to make them roll over or spin out of control and hit an inanimate object (pole or tree or culvert.)

If the 16 year old was speeding or driving distracted, why shouldn't he face appropriate charges? Two innocent people are dead because of the kid's negligence.

No Perry Mason needed.

I read more than one article about the accident.

I've also been involved in a low speed rear end collision that involved 4 cars and no one was injured, much less killed.

It doesn't take rocket science, Sherlock.

Why is anyone here already talking about needing to charge this kid? Law enforcement will investigate the entire crash, and make that decision. Give them a chance to do their job and make that determination. I completely understand that there is a lot of emotion involved here, but there is a process for determining if this kid should be charged.

I drive through this area all the time. Never have thought of it as a dangerous intersection. My wife was telling me about this wreck before bed. But that was before I knew who was involved. This is shocking.

It’s been a really rough week in auburn. 4 police officers shot and 1 killed a few days ago...say a prayer for the Bramblett family and everyone in Lee county.

Damn, those poor kids.

I had no idea that Bramblet was so young. Seems like he's been at AU for damn near forever at this point.
