frick. This man's voice has narrated some of my favorite memories since the time I was 12. I'm actually in tears right now. I feel so awful for his kids.

Rest in peace, Rod. This really hurts

What God fricking awful news

I’m so sorry Auburn fans. I couldn’t imagine something so horrible happening to Hawthorne or Chris Blair. Heart sunken news

I guess it doesn't really matter, but I wish an Auburn fan would start a thread saying he passed.

He was a good announcer and had a great voice from the little bit I heard on Auburn’s football broadcasts. Prayers for his family!

Same as how it felt the night Lutz died.

I'm listening to some of Rod's calls on YouTube right now. I'm really going to miss hearing his voice. But I'm glad he was here for the Final Four run

So awful. He took over for a legend, but he became ‘The’ legend. Rod was and always will be ‘The’ voice of the Auburn Tigers. RIP Rod.

I take back everything I have said about Rod. I really feel bad for his family, friends, the Auburn fanbase (and frankly every fanbase right now).
Automobile wrecks are so tragic when they are so sudden, so random, and often times entirely preventable.
Seriously, I have a knot in my stomach and I will have difficulty sleeping tonight.
My condolences to each Auburn fan tonight

This is absolutely devastating.

I truly hope those children receive ample support in their bereavement.

Thinking more and the "butterfly effect". How something so benign can cascade to such different outcomes.
What if they had changed their plans ever so little tonight? Caught a stop light instead of just passing under the light when it was yellow?
What if Auburn had not lost the game so oddly the other night and were still playing in the SEC tournament?
On and on.
So sad.

Too depressing to think about but yeah. All these little things had to happen in a specific order to lead to this eventuality.

Father’s Day is coming. Their kids will be without daddy. :((

OMG. This is so sad. Life is so fragile. Don’t know when it’s time for us to go.

RIP Rod... I am a big believer the local radio guy is the team's fans voice of the game

In Memory of Rod... his call of the Kick 6

I know this will feel like the loss of a best friend and familiar voice

Thinking of you, Aubies
