Don't buy a new car.
Buy one a couple of years old that's still under factory warranty. Find one with less than 30K miles. (My aunt turned in a 3 year old Corolla lease car with 585 miles on it. Yes. 585. It was new but not new. You CAN find deals if you spend the time looking.)
Make sure the car has a transferrabe 100K power train warranty. I made this mistake once and the turbo system went out. Manufacturer wouldn't do warranty repair because I wasn't original owner.
Good luck.

This is a bad take any way you look at it.
What Amtrak should do is extend the Mardi Gras line to include Baton Rouge only for football Saturdays and drop off at the tracks on Skip Bertman Dr. then have a train that heads back to New Orleans 1-2 hours post game.
I would so do this rather than drive post game.

My parents met at age 14 and 15.
My dad's mother was friends with Irene's mother from their Mid City NO neighborhood. Dad and Irene were friends, but never dated per se.
So my dad was asked to escort Irene to a party. My mother and Irene were friends at Sacred Heart Academy NO and was at that party.
So, there was a party game (for lack of a better term) where the girls threw a shoe in a pile and the boys had to pick a shoe and dance with the girl who owned the shoe.
To make a long story shorter, my dad peeked. Yes, he cheated! He picked my mom's shoe and they were together from 1944 to 2020.

I totally get him saying all he ever wanted to be was accepted in Harvey, LA or wherever he is from. No one knows what he went through in his younger days. I just can't expend energy hating on people I have never met.
