I never watched it but was it sloppy play on both sides or were the defenses really that good? Just curious because whatever it was, OU could use some of it.

Sloppy. Neither team wanted to win. Don’t waste your time watching it.

08 Auburn That team was so bad, especially Franklin's offense without the players to run it.

My favorite moment had to be when Tubs took the heaters away from the players in Morgantown because they were getting their asses kicked. Late October in Morgantown on a Thursday night, no heaters.

Auburn got smacked in the mouth during that game. Noel Devine went crazy.

OU’s win over Florida State in the 2001 Orange Bowl wasn’t far off. It was 6-0 going into the fourth quarter. If not for a Weinke INT and a quick OU score later, that game, for the national title could have ended 6-0.

That at least had the drama of a national title game.

3-2 was an early season game between the two worst teams in the division in 2008. Both coaches ended up being forced out at the end of the season.

It was awful. We got the 2 from a holding penalty in the end zone.

Auburn defense looked great. Miss st had like 100 yards. Auburn offense had 3-4 turnovers. A couple that would have led to points. Tough game to watch.

That was Sylvester Croom's Gulf Coast Offense. Every defense we played in those days looked great against us.

Well, everyone except Ron Zook's Florida Gators. State managed to beat them just a few weeks after losing at home to Maine.

Good times.

I was there. Got knee walking drunk on shine. Stole someone’s pet rabbit and set it free. Terrible weekend all around

It's hard to believe that, much like the Blackout game at UGA the year before, Auburn was winning deep into the third quarter.

Two awful offenses. I don't think State ever finished in the top 100 in total offense with Croom and that Franklin abomination at Auburn was pitiful for them. Auburn wasn't as talented as they had been in the mid 2000s but they had a solid OL, Todd was meh at QB but, Brad Lester and Ben Tate were good RBs; they should've been able to field a decent offense. Miss State had one of the shortest QBs in Tyson Lee and one or the fattest RBs (good college player though) in Anthony Dixon

It was like giving an 8 year old the keys to your truck and told him to drive on I 85 in Atlanta at 5:00 pm.

That offense is what happens when the PTB forces a head coach to hire a certain coordinator but he keeps all his buddies on as assistant coaches and they undercut the new guy.

Auburn’s 2008 defense was actually a good unit. The offense was a clusterfrick.

Auburn’s defense, for the most part, played fantastic during 2008 until the offense’s wheels fell all the way off. They held their own and, IIRC, there wasn’t much depth back there.
