Should prolly give him at least 4-5 seasons before judging him. You know, when he has "his" guys.

He’s definitely inexperienced and learning on the job. In all seriousness, I would evaluate him towards the beginning of his second season, not his first.

He may not see a second season. He was only signed to a 4 year deal, and his buyout would be relatively low. He was signed solely to prevent the entire team from transferring, a team who, on paper, should have been a favorite to go to Omaha and compete for a national title this year. All those guys will be gone next year, with or without Earley.

If I'm A&M and he does nothing with this team, I cut bait now and try to sign a legit head coach. The job certainly seems to be to big for Earley right now.

That wasn't about money by the time he left. He hated our AD.

Early Interview

Imagine having a shell shocked sad sack as your head coach. Dude has the 1000 yard stare.

Which school will his second season be at? I'll take your advice and keep tabs on him.

It should be at A&M, but we're gluttons for punishment.

Which could mean he will be at A&M.

You know some guys are just not cut out for HC no matter how many seasons you give it. Earley could be one of those - I mean, c'mon, he took over the 2nd best team in the nation.

A&M hasn't just fallen back a notch, this is a plummeting dumpster fire. I'm not ever seeing Earley as a head ball coach.

here's where you are wrong. everyone wants to coach at A&M because they hand out ridiculous contracts and extensions.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with aggy sausage but yeah the ATM gig is the dream gig because they have the worst contract drafting department in the NCAA.

You just need to not get fired for cause.

They hired him to try and keep the current players which never works out. They were only looking short term. They are going to have a rough season.

Just remember when Aggie on their message board said they upgraded when Schloss left and this is a blessing in disguise

We asked Schloss if he really wanted to be here. No reason to counter.

I am really surprised that they went with him. A guy that has never been a HC so does not really know everything that goes on. I think he will learn a lot this year so the question is will he be able to turn it around for next season or by the end of this season.

Here's how stupid it is: If Earley is fired by A&M, they owe him everything remaining on the contract. If Earley leaves for another job (leave the obvious joke alone here), A&M is due only 1 year of salary.

A head coach in the perennial conference for college baseball, should not be learning how to be a head coach on the job. He should be ready for its challenges.

I watched a dugout interview with him after one of the games this past weekend and his confidence sounds deflated.
