Please God no please don’t start with the Texas is back phrase again. I hear it every year and every year Texas falls flat on its face and loses 4,5, or 6 games. Let’s make them prove it this year before that phrase gets going around.
Who is the HC? That is the difference. Also, with the current roster who is better overall? ISU or Texas? Then with all that time and experience at Alabama it should help a lot. I still believe Texas will beat ISU this year. Doesn't mean they will be beating OU and go 9-1 in their conference. But I do believe they will beat ISU! I am confused why people just do not get that. Just like Auburn fans thinks Auburn will only lose 3 or maybe 4 games this year. I am like okay. Let just wait and see and I will prove them that Auburn will have at least 5 losses this year. I rarely see a first time a HC took over and hit it out of the ball park! I know Auburn did it several times in the past but this is not the same when you have a lesser talent gap with 4 teams already and one other loss to a team that have a more experience against SEC teams. Harsin will need a year or two to get things going. Then will he get back to recruiting in the top 15 like Gus did? Last year he stopped recruiting since he knew he was getting fired at the end of the year. Drinkwitz is another one that need time to get roster to the SEC level. Odom destroyed the roster by getting lesser talents and that have already shown at the end of the year that it was so bad and needed to fix that and he is recruiting a lot better and will take time to get the roster to a respectable level to compete against top teams. ISU isn't beating Texas with a much better talents and a much better HC! Again, two things must go hand to hand. A much better HC and much better talents against another team that have lesser talents and HC. This is my evaluation and I will stand with that. Look around and see which teams should be ranked higher than ISU base on better HC and better talents on the team? Please list them here. You should find that a top 10 teams will not have ISU as one of those teams.

Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Alabama. How refreshing.

Athlon is terrible. Most preseason publications are. Phil Steele is probably the best but even his hasn't been great the last couple of years.

Arkansas-TCU in the Texas Bowl, exact same as last year. That took a lot of work lol.

No one wanted ISU HC?
If you really believe this, your IQ can't be higher than room temperature. There are probably 115 (at least) FBS teams who would trade their coach for Matt Campbell.

Auburn and Texas didn't go after him.
He probably has his sights set on Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, or the NFL.

Rematch of the 1970 Orange Bowl...which was the last time MU won a conference title.
