AJC story

quote:

Dacia King, who is listed as the Bulldogs’ recruiting program coordinator on the team’s website, was dismissed. Lukman Abdulai, who is director of on-campus recruiting, has been placed on a 30-day suspension without pay.

King was hired for her current position in May 2018. A recruiting program coordinator typically serves as a liaison between prospective athletes and the Georgia coaching staff and helps plan visits and set itineraries.

Not even close to being a comparison and have no idea why any rational person would make that argument. They had ONE top 10 class in the 4 years prior to their infamous '16 class including a 47th place finish.

UGA had consistent top 10 classes prior to their #1 class in including a #8 and #5 class with arguably the best in-state recruiting advantage in the SEC.

Kirby is as easy to talk to a high profile college coach you’ll ever meet. Dude has plenty of personality and can own a room. The impressive thing is talking to him about something random like he is any other person and then bringing up football and watching as the total love he has for the sport and teaching it to his players makes itself known. He is incredibly bright and odds are is the most intelligent football mind in most rooms that he occupies but he knows how to teach what he knows which is what makes him so good at recruiting. He can talk to anyone about anything but the thing is really good at he knows how to talk about in a way that anyone in the room can understand

it's nowhere remotely close and I have pointed it out with comparisions time and time again but people plug their ears and ignore it anytime you mention it. People are going to think whatever they want even if they're as wrong as wrong can be. I've accepted it.

The Process doesn't work without people with no morals to cover it up. Kirby is learning the hard way.

Kirby just did what his old boss did. Paying players is the only way he knows how to recruit.

Did a LSU fan really post this?

Right? You wouldn't know it, but behind that smokin' bod and pretty smile is a 23 year old recruiting criminal mastermind. Good job Dawgs, drain the swamp.

Seems like a boss banging a hot subordinate. Cool.

I guess its now proven that you have to reach Board-of-Regents rank to be allowed to bang your subordinates and not lose your job/position in the University System of Georgia.

Honestly, anyone who pays any attention to recruiting knows that Kirby was doing some highly suspicious things.

It's not that Kirby started to do better -- it's true, Georgia has always recruited well.

It's that it happened so sharply, so quickly and so strangely that it didn't make any other sense from outsiders looking in. There have been so many 5* "surprises", guys who had no interest, got a call, visited and suddenly are ALL RAWL DAWG 110%. The only other team where that frequently happens is at Alabama, and now looking over there you have to say "hmmm".

I would be more shocked that Georgia wasn't cheating than if they were.

Exactly. The recruitment of both Pickens and Dean were both highly suspicious. Didn't Kirby also piss off Saban and Fisher by basically flat out lying to recruits about depth charts in order to get them to sign with UGA?

Reminds me of Ole Miss under Freeze.

Can you provide examples of these 5* surprise commits? Who are our equivalents to Treadwell and Tunsil that have you so shook about us landing?

Only thing suspicious about Pickens is that he may very well qualify. Otherwise we were on him for a while and stayed on him when Auburn and Bama backed off because of grades. When Haselwood bailed he became our main guy to compliment Blaylock in the class.

Dean we were on for well over a year; he and his mom visited very early on and were impressed by UGAs academics and willingness to let him give engineering a shot (whereas Auburn for example tends to funnel their players into Public Administration majors). Say what you will about pulling him out of Mississippi but if we did something underhanded to get him, it was just enough to beat out the similar offers from Ole Miss and Bama. But it’s not like we came out of nowhere for either him or Pickens

You might be right and you might be wrong. But this is such a nothing sandwich that Kirby and Co are going to skate right on through it and tighten the ship for the future. It’s going to be great too.
